Impressed by a C63
Yesterday I was driving near the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. There was a grey C63 AMG sedan that seemed to think that since I was driving a C7 he needed to race me. So we were driving up a narrow 1way road near the main parking lot. One side had parallel parking the other was angled parking. Every spot was taken. People everywhere with a zillion kids. I was on the parallel parking side. He floored it going past all the angled parking, kids and all. I stayed in my lane @ 15mph.
I was impressed how stupid someone could be. License plate was CA AMG.

Unfortunately in Bay area I regularly see people driving quite fast (20 - 30 mph or higher) in packed parking lots and sometimes highly distracted due to their mobile phones. I agree with you that I just don't get the point of that.
Even at intersections, stop signs in residential area drivers frequently cut pedestrians or do not wait for them on the stop sign. People rush through right and left turns on green without actually looking for pedestrians on the cross walk.

I feel the US North East region cities like New York City, Boston are worse than California in terms of safe driving habits and risk for pedestrians. Even within California, I've found cities outside of Bay Area and SoCal regions have more patient drivers.

Portland has more dumb drivers than anything, who flip you off and get mad instantly. But comparing to LA no one cares how you drive and I've been to LA countless of times and I have yet to see road rage. Every single time I am there the driving doesn't disappoint, everyone minds their own business. Grandpas/Grandmas go easily 100+ on the highways versus here they go 10 below.

Read my post again and try to actually comprehend it. Flooring any vehicle on a narrow street with dozens of beach goers and their kids getting in and out of their vehicles is a dumb *** move. If you think that its ok picture how you would feel if someone did that and killed your sister/brother/mother/father/kids. It ain't rocket science and if you don't get it well, I guess you can't fix stupid.
If you also are able to brush up on your reading skills and reread my post you'd see that I didn't try to race the C63. I don't suffer from stupid like the CA AMG C63 driver does.
Let's see, the C63 has 14 more HP than a base C7 and 19ftlbs more torque. If the C7 is a Z06 then it has 180hp and 170ftlbs more than a C63. The C7 is over 800lbs lighter. So next time you see a C7, do the math.

If I run over your family it will improve your carbon footprint. Just doin' my part for the environments. You're welcome.

You're right. A better title would be "Impressed by a C63 AMG driver". My post has nothing to do with the car. It has all to do with the driver. My hope is he's a member or browses here occasionally. Maybe this thread will then get him to think a little before he does something similar.
