Dealer trying to charge for a coolant bleed
hi there, it appears as though the cooling system has been drained or opened up at one point. we will need to drain & refill the charge air cooling system In addition to bleeding it. it's not something i can cover under warranty & will be $225.00 + tax to do
So I took the car in for high trans temp which is the above response I got from them. The car has fault code p2473 .
If there was air in the system the whole car should be heating up ?

Is it possible the system was opened last time it was in the Mercedes Service Dept? If they opened the system then it should still be covered under warranty. Did they tell you what the evidence was that proves it was "opened" which apparently allowed air to enter the system? My point is that if it's only been to Mercedes for service then it can be assumed that Mercedes is responsible for the system to have been compromised with air contamination. I can understand them charging for labor if the cause is from a third party servicing the car but if only Mercedes has been servicing then obviously they are the only ones responsible for the current condition.
If there was damage that caused this then have them show where the damage is and show you what caused it.
