NFC pairing with 2019 C63s

Has anyone found a good reason or use for the NFC pairing feature available in the 2019 C63? I'm really not sure what the point is.

The only point is to simplify Bluetooth pairing if you have a phone that supports it. I never quite got the need for it, but I guess some people struggle with pairing devices via Bluetooth. As far as I know Android supports it, but iOS doesn't.

I asked in person one of the tops from MBUSA about this feature back in October 2018 as I was hoping they will allow us to use our phones to unlock the car. He said that MBUSA (Not Mercedes) has no plans to enable such feature in the USA, at least not in the next 5 years.
This is very sad as I got used to my Tesla with no actual key where iPhone works perfectly as the key to enter and start the car.

Yes, this is one feature that's not available in the USA. In Europe there is an option to unlock the car via NFC, however it only works with Android phones as the NFC chip in iPhone's is currently still locked to Apple Pay only. That's changing in iOS 13 as Apple is finally opening up the chip to developers. It's not what Tesla does, though. Tesla uses Bluetooth to detect proximity of your phone. The security of that is somewhat questionable, though.
