I was in the same boat as a lot of people here, trying to decide between the M4 and C63S. Don't get me wrong, the C63 is sexy, but I think the M4 takes it in the exterior looks department and handling. Other than that, C63 beats the hell out of it in every other category. Especially interior quality. Being that I'm in this forum, I think we all know who the winner was.

I agree... M3/4 looks spectacular -- much more aggressive than the C63s. I am so angry the rear fenders aren't flared on our cars -_- But I used to have a 335i and hated how terrible it sounded. Surprisingly, the M3/4 sounds even worse somehow. They talk smack about our fake exhaust tips, but that's better than pumping synthetic sound into the cabin. Interior is nicer in the Merc, but I do hate how much the trim creaks... fortunately after about 3 dealership visits, they fixed most of them so it's bearable... I still have creaking from the glovebox but whatever... I'll just deal with it for now.

Mercedes pumps fake sound now too, just saying. And like you said, the interior has its own quirks even though it is the better looking one for now.

you guys must be comparing a c63 sedan because imo there is no way a m3/m4 looks more aggressive than a c63 coupe

Does this also mean that MB uses the speakers to produce the synthetic sound?

Yes. They have been quiet about it but they have been doing this for a while.

While I do have a sedan, I think the M4 looks better than the coupe as well. C63 is has more elegant lines, soft curves. M4 is a bit more aggressive in styling

2019 AMG C63s Coupe
I had a 2016 M4 that was tuned, catless downpipes, charge pipes, and Dinan exhaust. A beast; I ran 11.4 and 120mph in the quarter.
I now own a 2019 AMG C63s. The AMG fit and finish is much nicer; the ride is smoother and less road noise when compared to the M4. The M4 is simply not as refined but mechanically they are nice, although nowhere superior to the AMG or Mercedes. The M4 sound with the catless downpipes and Dinan exhaust was fairly deep and throaty but in stock form very dull. My C63s has a deep and powerful sound. I've had folks comment on how great it sounds; even while pumping gas at the local station I've had compliments on the sound. Bye the way, with my RennTech tune, turbo's and catless downpipes I'm running 640hp and 645 torque at the crank.

545 tq? I would think it would be much higher than that. Doesn't it have around 520 at the crank stock?

I have to disagree; beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I think the C63 looks much better than the F80 M4. I own an M4 and I think the last good-looking M car was the E92. Comfort, luxury, interior aesthetics at some level can be objectively judged, but exterior "looks" or "shapes" or "lines" are completely subjective, in my opinion. Only thing I personally don't really like about the C63 coupe is the rounded trunk, but other than that, it looks awesome all around.

I'm sure there's somewhat of a "grass is greener" perspective when it comes to looks too. I think the M4 looks boring, but it may be because I've driven it for so long now; consequently, I think the C63 looks great, but who knows, maybe that perspective will change again after a few years of ownership...

I'm sorry, it should read 645 torque. My typo which I will edit. Good catch.

It sounds awesome; I can't believe the fantastic sound it makes. Next week I will be posting a video of the dyno tune performed at RennTech. They actually performed a dyno and video of the car before tune and then a dyno and video of the car after the tune. I picked up 132 hp and 84 torque. What is noteworthy is that at the time I dropped the car off at RennTech it had previously a Eurocharged ecu tune and catless downpipes installed. So the RennTech numbers are over and above the Eurocharged tune and not the AMG stock numbers. This tells me that the Eurocharged tune with downpipes only increased stock hp by 25. Needless to say that I am less than impressed with Eurocharged.

I agree with you regarding the exterior looks of the C63s versus the M4 although I had several carbon fiber pieces on my M4, I also have carbon fiber on my C63s and I added a duckbill style carbon fiber spoiler (removed the stock spoiler) which really sets off the rounded trunk into a more squared off look.

M3 sedan looks much better than W205 C63 sedan with the wider rear hips.

C63s coupe looks much better than M4.

Yeah I will agree that the flared rear wheel arches of the M3 look great, especially from the rear. That was definitely a complaint I had about how much more aggressive the M3 looks than the M4...

I absolutely agree. To each their own. I'm sure there's somebody out there who thinks the Smart Car is the most beautiful vehicle ever made. M3/M4/C63 Coupe/C63 Sedan are all gorgeous vehicles in their own right

But I can say that, although I know the competition pack is "better", I cannot imagine it totally transforms the vehicle. I'm sure the titanium exhaust sounds much better, but I just can't say that the M4 is soooo special and awesome. Don't get me wrong, I've loved mine, but it's just not an exciting car unless you're on a track. I don't know what that guy is talking about "so much low end torque." Unless the 20 additional HP makes the CP that much faster, the M4 is a slug at low RPMs...

Regarding the convertible aspects, the hard top alone makes the comparison between the cabrio's night and day. Although the general public loves the idea of a hard top, it's a detraction for the M4. It's *very* heavy with the roof up and you can feel the weight when driving around, even normal driving. Also, it creaks and squeaks like mad after 3.5 years...and you can't operate it while driving over 12 miles per hour, which is REALLY inconvenient. It takes almost 30 seconds to put up/down. These are all real detractions to this car. In short, i would not get a hard top convertible again if i could avoid it.

Anyway, for these reasons alone, and the fact that that one dude admitted he's a BMW fanboy, you can totally see that come through. I mean, the analog gauges??? I can't stand that about my M4...it looks soooo dated.

So, I have to take this review with a grain of salt. Sounds like they may not be wrong about the exhaust sound comparison though...that's been a consistent complaint from everyone as of late.
Not at all...the M3/4 in ZCP form is just as much of a slug at low RPMs!
This review is clearly just for fun and shouldn't be used to make a buying decision...
I just got rid of my 2018 M3 ZCP, basically because I felt the opposite of what the reviewer has said.

Mrguitar, I gotta agree with everything you said in this post.
