Tint Exemption
Has anyone here able to get a tint exemption from the doctors allowing legally to have very dark tint such as 5-10%?

I've had one for 10% in NJ. I have mild Rosacea on my face, which I control by avoiding long period of Sun - not nearly enough to actually warrant a note, but since my brother is a physician, I just got him to write me a form.

I have an eye condition that leaves me sensitive to sunlight. I use sunglasses in all driving conditions until nighttime. My eye doctor signed the required state form. My tint is legal but I can go darker if needed

In my state (IOWA) there is no provision for a doctor exemption for tinted windows. I'm not sure what a police officer would say if you tried to present a note to him upon getting pulled over. It probably wouldn't get you very far.
We can tint the rear window and rear side windows as dark as possible legally. They only get sensitive to tinting the front side windows, and in that case the darker you go, the more likely you are to be pulled over. Tinting the front windshield is a huge no no.
I've gotten one warning for having tints. An actual ticket is like $80, so it's not the end of the world in any case.

Due to HIPPA regulations, its actually illegal for the cop to try and decipher if it is or not... He can write a fix it ticket if he is an ***.. but if you tell him you have a medical condition, it is what it is..

So what you are saying is if a cop stops me and I cannot present an exemption, just say I have a medical condition I can get away with it?
