Who has installed a CF diffuser?

Just curious if the rear bumper had to be removed to install, for example, a mode carbon diffuser. I'm getting differing opinions. Also, do the backup sensors then get moved to the diffuser and still operate the same? Is there enough wiring for them to reach the added distance?

Thanks

I had mine installed at Eurocharged and they did remove the bumper. In my case the diffuser killed the sensor to open the trunk by swinging your leg underneath but apparently thats normal. One of the backup sensors didnt fit perfectly for me so sometimes it just beeps randomly while backing up but these things are too minor for me to worry about compared to the aggressive look i get.

I has the same problem on mine too. If you mount it flush then it would point down ward too much.

Is it a single beep or beeps the whole time you're reversing? I really want to put one on but little issues like this are stopping me.

Post up some up close pics if you've got them on hand. I'd like to see how the sensor looks installed. If my car is white, would I have white sensors in the hole?

It doesn’t matter what color your is. On the coupe, the OEM 2 middle rear sensors are black. There’s no other way to mount it. If you mount at an angle for less pointing down ward, then you will see a gap.

We've noticed this issue too. Its more common on the coupe. The sensors point down too much so they pickup the ground and beep a lot. We mount them straighter when we install here.

You guy didn’t mount mine straight. I reported the issue after installation. You guy said you will get back to me on the issue but never did. I called the shop 4x and also left voice mail with the employees and on the phone. No one call back. My car is the C63s cabriolet Matte white color. I still want mine fix.

I was told that the diffuser had no problems as such that I was the only one having trouble with the sensors due to my install when i called but reading posts now i guess it is a common problem after all.

Funny thing is all my stuff on my last two c63's is from RW, but an acquitance just happens to have a mode carbon diffuser that he has decided not to use and offered to me cheap. I might just avoid it all together and purchase a brabus style front lip instead. Forum homies discount RW? lol

Don’t need to remove the bumper at all. I installed 2 different carbon diffusers on my car without any issues this way.

Hmm .... how do you removed the rivets? Those need to be drill out. Unless you don’t want to save the Oem part and just ripped it apart.

Drilled them out and reinstalled new rivets both times. It’s a tight fit along the corner but can be done.
