Finished Installing my AWE Switchpath Exhaust!

I finally just finished on my 2017 C63 AMG Sedan that came with the Non-PE. I started with a Track Version (No Mufflers) and decided a few months later it would be nice to have the flexibility of Mufflers and Electronic Valves so I bought the "Switchpath Conversion Kit". Installed that a month ago and had some delay on finishing it. The last thing was to install the Wire Harness that goes to each Valve Motor on each Muffler and on the Valved H-pipe. It wasn't too bad, but I took my time to make it look clean.

I ran all the wires from the harness under the car and under some of the plastic panels and under the metal heat shield where I could, and I zip tied everything nice and neat and away from heat sources. My Final Step was to get power to the harness.
I went ahead and Unplugged Negative BatteryTerminal in the trunk, Tapped Power and Grounded the other connection. There is a rubber circular Plug in the trunk near the turn signal on the passenger side, and I cut a X-Slit in that rubber circular plug to allow the power wire to pass through to get underneath the car to plug it into the harness.

The Moment of Truth............... I hit the remote control and heard the valves Open and Close. I also sprayed silicone inside each exhaust pipe with the motorized valve to lubricate them. I unplugged the Stock Benz Plug that goes into the H-pipe Motor with a dummy plug supplied by AWE that tricks the computer by sending a signal back so the ECM thinks that the connection is plugged in still.

The AWE H-Pipe Valve in center of the car, is now opened and closed with the handheld FOB/Remote, so I assume when I Press the Remote ON, ALL 3-Valves on the exhaust will OPEN (Left & Right Mufflers & the H-Pipe) and when I hit the Fob OFF, all of the 3 valves Close? I was thinking if I just left the stock Mercedes Benz Wire Harness plugged in at the H-Pipe, the H-Pipe Motorized Valve would open and close as it always had before, based on the drive mode you are in. Sports+ I believe opens th H-Pipe Valve on a stock exhaust system.

I pressed the remote several times to confirm things were closing and opening and I am FINALLY Done! I decided to save the First Start-Up for Tomorrow when I could enjoy it and I will post pictures under the car later and put up a video with the valves Open and Closed.

Glad this is over with!

Ha Ha. I just checked all 3 of the motors with the remote and they are working. I added more silicone spray to the valves and I am ready for blast off. I have a YouTube Guitar Channel, but outside of that, I need to figure out how to put a video up. I will do a video and take better pictures under the car and post over the weekend.

Can't wait to see/hear the difference. Very clean looking install! Did you cut/weld that yourself?

Thanks so much! I didn't do any welding and any weld you see is from AWE. However, YES I did the actual Switchpath install myself and ran the wiring from the wire harness under the car to all the motorized valves so my Remote will now Open and Close Valves with the touch of a button.

I also tapped and ran power that the wire harness needs from a RED Wire ion the passenger side in the trunk. The Red/White Wire is part of that Plug you see on the right in my pictures, which is plugged into the Amplifier for the stereo. The Valves ONLY Can Activate via the Remote if the ignition is turned On.

It rained today and I need to swap cars on the lift and put the Vette back up on there so I can pull the Benz underneath. The FUNNY thing is I am HOPING with the valves closed that it is QUIET as can be! LOL It is already pretty loud when Open and i like the sound, but the reason I did the Switchpath was so I could quiet it down and Remove any DRONE when I wanted a peaceful drive. If it Removes ALL The drone I will be shocked and happy. If it reduces drone noticeably to any degree where it makes a difference I will be happy.
