Keyless entry behavior

Hi everyone, just got a 2018 c63s. Previous car was c63 2012. I noticed that on my previous car i could unlock and lock the car with they key and/or buttons on the door handle. Now on my new car if i lock with key i cant use door handle to unlock. If i lock with door handle i can
then unlock with door handle. Is this normal behavior ?

Ifyou lock (only once) using the keyfob you can unlock the door using the door handle.

Only if you locked twice (in quick succession), the keyfob stops transmitting (until you press any button on the fob again). This will prevent the keyless entry from working and will require you to unlock using the keyfob again.

Is this not true with 2018s? OP - can you try locking just once using your keyfob to see if unlocking using the door handles work?

That’s weird... my 2019 literally did it yesterday and my bud’s 2017 has always done it

Do know the double lock trick too which helps the car not get boosted and stolen

It's not normal, I can unlock/lock the car as long as I don't double tap.

Ok this does not happen on any year!
i think you unintentionally deactivated your fob when you locked the car and that put the fob to sleep so when you touched the door handle it didn’t unlock. When you then used the fob you woke it and it unlocked.
you can make the fob turn off by double clicking the lock button. The light on the fob blinks followed by a long light.
