Facelift grille distronic star

I ordered this grille from CKS Performance. It came with a star that looks like it is NOT for distronic cars. However, CKS assures me they sent the right grille for my VIN (2017 with Distronic+). I was trying to remove the current star emblem to install the old one from my stock grille, but I can't get this one to budge. Can anyone confirm whether or not this star works with distronic and further, how do I remove it from the grille if it's not for distronic? It does not appear to twist off the same way as pre-facelift emblems. I'm inclined to believe this is not a distronic star because there is a 3D silver plastic piece across the front, but there is also a marking on the back that says to not include text/logos in a particular section... which seems to indicate some kind of sensor would be placed there (like distronic?). Anyone?

Looks to me like the star that is there would just pop out if you depress the tabs and then you put your distronic one in there.

One would think, but I've tried prying, twisting, pressing... it feels like I'm going to break it.

it should just twist out , they are super tight and it may break . The new distronic star does not have a raised star , its flat ....the non distronic star is raised above the glass

cks told me the same thing twice. i have a problem with the distronic in that it sees a vehicle in front when the road is clear and i’m sure the problem is the fact that the badge with the raised star is not flat on the back but has those two hits attaching the star

That's the correct part number A0008880000 or 000-888-00-00 if you look on any of the US parts websites. It fits many 2019-2020 Mercedes models including the E-Class and C-Class
