C43/C63 Insurance Cost
Prior to adding my C63S, I was paying 40% of what I am paying now. So definitely my rate went up significantly after adding my C63S. But there are many factors, and the key one I feel is Zip code (Bay area California zip codes have higher crime rate and costs in general). My significant other has had her license for a much shorter time than me and is also another factor. Also with the car's depreciation, the premium also goes down.
i love my car but there is no fu**ing way i would pay 1k monthly just on insurance for it. that is absurd.

I reckon you should try and go through a broker if you can bro.

F*ck I'm in my mid 30's now. I remember getting quotes not far from that back in 2002 when I was 21 years old for a 93' Supra hahaha.
Now I'm paying $1900 for the C63s Coupe per year, comprehensive with Budget Direct (QBE), excess is $1250 (in Australia). I'm in the most expensive category too (due to loss of licence in the past etc.)

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
How’s your driving record? If it’s pristine and your credit is decent (unlikely due to lack of credit experience), you may see rates between $300-1,000/month.
You’re looking at high risk, performance vehicles while in a high risk age group. It’s going to be expensive and honestly, it’s pay to play. If you have deep pockets, go to town and get full coverage including GAP and full tort.
insurance, brakes and tires are things you NEVER skimp on.
~Installed these on my 17’ C63S AMG in my garage. They’re Black Series 2 piece rotors with black aluminum hats (Brembo) Not only do they look gnarly, they carry a lifetime warranty (yes, even if you track your vehicle, brakes and pads are covered).
Do this at home, save yourself a literal fortune. My driving style was becoming a byproduct of babying the brakes to prolong their life span (huge no no). After installing, I could care less if I smell brakes lol. After all, the only consequence will be having to install free, warrantied pads and rotors!
ps, traction control uses the rear brakes to mitigate wheel spin. For those that don’t know, turning off traction control is the only way to save your rear pads and rotors from a very early demise.

Progressive quoted me over 900 dollars a month fyi.
I guess I shouldn't have complained to my insurance agent when looking to bring down the costs of our insurance. I suddenly feel sheepish when I asked my agent why our rates were so high...

I understand that it depends on the region and car, but 1k per month is too much. I don't know by what criteria you choose your company, but I'm shocked, to be honest, haha.
When I bought my car, I was searching for a good insurance company like a crazy person. I was looking on different websites, like joywallet.com. It was essential for me to find one that would satisfy me financially and have good conditions. Ended up paying 90$ per month.

I bought a c43 when I was 23 (male unmarried). I was paying ~240/month (GEICO)(lowest coverage amounts) in NYC doing 10k/year and driving for leisure. My insurance had always been the cheapest out of all my friends and nobody could figure out why. They all have clean records and mine.....well it's terrible really...multiple resolved tickets from my late teens, I typically have a couple that are pending and repeatedly being postponed to avoid points, a few speeding violations in Jersey that were amended down to something like careless operation.
Credit is >800 (always has been) so that helps, I work in healthcare so maybe that helps too. I got into an accident in that car which ended up totaling it last year in August 2020. A 17 year old made a left into oncoming traffic without looking.
After that car was gone I decided to go for what I really always wanted which was a c63s. I turned 25 between totaling the c43 and buying the c63, and when I reinstated my policy for the c63 the monthly actually dropped to around 225/month which is what I pay currently, still unmarried-10k in NYC for leisure, lowest coverage amounts, and now with an accident that left my car totaled.
I'm not sure how I pay what I do but Im happy with it. The premium dropped when I turned 25 even going from 365HP stock and AWD to 500HP and RWD.
Just whatever you do don't ever lie to them about what you use the car for, and don't go for an out of state address from a friend to try and save a few bucks (like people with PA plates here in NY). Insurers can/will deny you coverage if they find out you lied on your application.
