It's a OEM grille from MB.
And yes, catless downpipes... otherwise it's not stage 2.

I heard that Renntech germany tune is not the same as the renntech NA tune. It is not the same file. Renntech germany is where the actual r&d happens. Just putting my 2 cents in.

Their HQ is in Florida. Their engineering hub is in Germany. Euro spec cars have different emissions equipment and electronics, so naturally the file will be different. This is zero reflection of any “lesser” product being in the USA.

To the OP: Any reason you limit your comparison to EC and Renntech? Velos, DME, Weistec all now offer ODB2 Flash tune, any reason you don't loo at those?

Your signature says your car is a 2017, so i figured you may have gotten it aftermarket.

I checked their website, they offer a stage 2 tune, with the downpipes as an optional add on.

appreciate the info

Some of them, I had never heard of, but that's changed thanks to this thread.

It seemed like a lot of people on here were running renntech and EC, so i figured there would be a lot of feedback. I'm also a short driving distance to get physical support from both of them, which is important to me.

I'm researching the other companies mentioned on the thread now as well.

I spoke to a MB dealer today, that's also an authorized Renntech dealer.

They said anything they install of renntech products will not negatively affect the factory warranty. This applies only if they install it.

For a flash you would have to pay for an hour of work to cover the 10 minutes it will take them, but then you are fully covered by Mercedes with no worries about the warranty from the flash.

bms intake looks slick. Kind of suprised to see no heat shield on the website. I would think that it would raise the intake temps, since it would also suck in hot air from the engine bay.

But i also don't know much, so who knows...

Are you able to hear the turbos spool with it?

I do not want to turn this into an intake thread (plenty of arguing on the main intake thread already), but since you are interested in Renntech, call them. Speak with their sales tech and ask your questions about the tune and then ask about an intake. I think you’ll appreciate the conversation and the candidness.

it's not and i have no intention to get an intake at this point. Nothing more then general curiosity

If this is true, this is huge for me as my biggest concern is losing the manufacturers warranty (for areas that could be affected by a tune). Does anyone else have any first hand knowledge of whether this is true? And is it only MB dealers or any authorized Renntech dealer? I'd much rather drive to LA than to Reno (which is the closest authorized MB dealer to SoCal), especially just for the piggyback.

As far as I know, this is not an official MB policy. Meaning, MB could very well not cover powertrain issues with a Renntech tune. If you get it installed by a dealer and it's their policy to cover such issues you'll probably be fine. I would not consider it iron-clad without something in writing from the dealership though.

When I spoke to the dealer, they said it had to be installed by them which makes sense as they want the business.
If you look at the below website, they plainly state that upgrades will not affect the warranty, if installed by an "authorized installer"
https://www.aristocratmercedes-benz....formance-parts

Also if you read Renntech's warranty, it says they will pay for Mercedes parts and labor if issues occur.
https://www.renntechmercedes.com/jdo...Conditions.pdf

In summary, who knows...

I found an authorized RennTECH MB dealer/installer close by and requested quotes (parts and install) directly from RennTECH and them (I am close to both). See what they come back with. I would also feel more comfortable if a MB dealer installs it so that there are no questions when something would happen.

Much better experience with Renntech than eurocharged.

1. No check engine lights
2. no sputtering, car drives and shifts smooth like stock
3. install was a lot faster

Renntech cost a little more, but would recommend it over eurocharged.

Exactly. Don’t know why so many people hem and haul. Just go with the best and be done with it.

Hi
I agree with you, The Velos tune is awesome, I've had it on my c63 for over two years now with no issues at all
(See my Dino Sheet with no down pipe)

Anyone run the SSR or Gintani tune? Waiting for my coupe to be ready to pickup in the next couple days and trying to decide between the two. Leaning towards the gintani for the amount of torque they add but a little concerned about the drivetrain.

I've only had good experiences with Jerry, Eurocharged and their tunes. I have run an 11.4 @ 130.15mph on a race gas mix with their stage 1 tune. I've ran a best ET of 11.2 @ 128mph on their stage 2 tune on Sunoco 93 octane pump gas with the car exactly how I drive every day. I included my time slips below. I will soon be moving to their Stage 3 Tune. I've never dyno'd my car but have been to the quarter mile track several times and posted my results on MBWorld. Trap speeds speak for themselves. I have datalogged extensively at the track and on the street. Fuel trims (A/F ratio, STFT/LTFT), timing curve and boost all look terrific and safe. You can search my post for more info on my setup and quarter mile time slips. Highly recommend Jerry, Eurocharged and their tunes. to confirm, you’re trapping 128+ mph on a ECU only
mod plus high octane fuel?
