replace key battery

picked up the car december 5, is it normal to have to replace key battery already after 3 months? just got a notification on the dash saying replace key battery

The battery would have been used already. Just make sure you double press the lock button to stop the key signaling for proximity entry and using battery full time when you're not around the car. This drains the battery.

A new battery should last at least 6 months or more though.

Replace with CR2025 3V (any decent brand will do).

thanks for the replies.

can i just put in a battery and call it a day or does the dealership need to reprogram the key ? i remember thts how it used to be i believe

You just replace the battery and that's it. No coding needed.
