I'll keep that in mind. Figure as the temp starts creeping up past 90 degrees this week, I'll know more about road feel at high road and tire temps. For now, I'm starting 33# all around. I might want more in the front if she starts understeering too much on slow curves.

Yes, glad another 2020 coupe owner replied, but now even stranger that mine (pic in post #14) says 35/33 with light load. I will continue to run them that way and assume the MB engineers knew what they were doing and the production crew put the proper sticker on the car, but it's odd as hell. BTW...that pressure feels pretty normal to me as far as driving goes. The ride is firm but not unusually harsh and I seem to have plenty of traction in the rear, handling feels normal, etc. Thanks for the various replies on this.

Wow... I was searching threads hoping to clarify some confusion and it seems our AMG's tire pressure specs are all over the place for convertible, coupe and sedan..

For my Edition 1 sedan with the 19 inch wheels:
Door pillar = 48 front, 45 rear
Gas cap = 38 front 33 rear

Go figure. I've been running 48/45 since new. I'll drop the pressures now to 38/33 and see what happens.

No, my OEM tires were Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I ended up doing 38/33. Admittedlyly (and duh), the car rides sooo much better.

I think I picked the right thread to ask this.

I recently put PS4S' on my 2019 coupe with stock wheels and 12mm spacers all around.

I got 265/35/19s on the front and 295/30/20s on the rears.

Since the tire model, size, and spacers aren't OEM, I'm guessing the pressures on the fuel door aren't exactly for my setup anymore.

That being said, for dailying I've been fine. But, I'm about to drive LA - Vegas this afternoon. Its not that long of a drive at ~4 hours but its the longest drive I've done in the car and just wanted to confirm if anyone here has a recommended tire pressure for long drives so the drive is not only safe, but so I also don't put unnecessary wear on my brand new tires due to incorrect filling.

First of all congrats on the new rubber and **please** post some pics of this setup. I am currently running PS4S and the 295/30/20 on the rear but would love to see the 265/35 on the front and the look with 12mm spacers all the way around...VERY INTERESTED in your setup!

Second...I am running the air pressure per the fuel door even though running the 295 in the rear (33ft / 32rr...no passengers and 19/20 wheels) but to tell you the truth I have not done any long distance driving on this setup but feel like this would work for you (LA to Vegas)...assuming your using the same pressure I am. I find this pressure 33/32 feels the best and gives me the best traction for the rear (which i realize isn't a concern on a long trip). Good luck and have a fun trip...let us know how it went with the car.

Thank you so much for your quick replies! I was worried I wouldn't hear from anyone before I took off.

I will make sure to take and upload some pictures for you before heading out! I'm really enjoying this setup. Coming from the OEM PSS', it has made the car so much more enjoyable.

I've actually done this drive several times now, but those were much simpler cars, we all know our AMGs require a little more attention. My concerns now stem from some articles I read that recommended filling a little more than usual for long distance driving. Unfortunately theres not too much info about long distance drives in performance cars so I'm not sure what that changes.

I'm sure it'll be fine. Done plenty of 1-2 hour drives. This is just a couple combined!

I apologize for the delay! At the last second, after packing the car, decided to take the G550 instead. Figured why take factory matte paint through the desert? Also knew I'd be stressing about my car being in valet and wouldn't enjoy the trip as much.

Had a packed driveway so couldn't get good pics but here's what I have for now! Will post some more useful photos when I can!

Thanks for the post...gorgeous AMG. And Ceramic Brakes...Sweet!

Just personal opinion but not sure I like the 265 on the front (but to each his own) but the 295 just works on these rear wheels...looks great!

I do like the spacers...especially in the front. Who's spacers did you use? Are they hub centric?

It's funny you should say that, because for my taste, I like the way the fronts look better. I like seeing a good amount of sidewall, but with my setup I don't think I could go any bigger on the rears. But I see what you mean.

Oh no worries...car looks amazing. Like I said to each his own and the 265 looks good...but I guess not good enough for me to change from the 255...IMHO

When measuring tire pressures, are you folks relying on the dashboard pressure display or using the reading from an actual gauge. I just checked all my cold pressures at 33 front, 32 rear per the fuel door (measured with a pencil-type gauge and another external digital gauge. The car is showing 37f / 36r shortly after startup. As long as the delta is consistent, I would not care, but just would like confirmation that the car's sensors being this off is normal.

No, don't use the TPMS numbers. I use a digital gauge with 0.1 psi resolution and always check the tire pressure first thing in the morning in my garage before the sun hits any of the tires. The tire pressure sensors in the wheels are not that accurate. My rear right consistently indicates about 1 psi too high and they only have 1 psi resolution. They are ok as a smoke test.

The only correct way to adjust your tire pressure is to drive around for some time then use an infrared thermometer to test the temperatures of the outer edge, middle and inner edge of your tire. Then you adjust your tire pressures based on the temperature readings. This method will give your the maximum grip when your tire is warmed up.

Hey folks - I posted this in a different thread so apologies if you've already seen the same comment and it's a repeat here in this thread: It's my understanding the that the speed for the 2020 W205 C63 is limited to 155mph while the speed for the W205 C63S is 180mph (factory numbers). It seems to me that the speed ranges on the fuel door for tire pressures are referencing the C63 (0 - 155) vs C63s (0 - 180). Maybe it's a coincidence but thought I would make the observation, out loud at least. Sorry if this is already obvious.

If I understand correctly what you are saying, then no, that's not how to interpret this table. The middle section of the table should really say for speeds >155mph. Yes, only the C63S can reach the 180mph top speed stock, but as long as you don't take the C63S above 155mph, then the 0-155mph pressures apply to the C63S and C63. Only if you plan to take the C63S above 155mph do the 0-180mph pressures apply. It's really the top end that matters, because at the higher speeds the tire deflections become much greater and for the tires to cope with it and not overheat you need to compensate with higher pressures. Below 155mph it doesn't matter, but the higher pressures will give you a harsher ride.

On a side note, you can take the C63S above 155mph even at the lower pressures as long as you keep an eye on the temperature and the spurts above 155mph are short. During my ED trip, I initially raised the tire pressure for driving on the German Autobahn, but I found that given traffic I could only really go above 155mph for short intervals, so the higher pressures just gave a crappy ride more than anything and I lowered them back down. The tire temperatures did increase quickly above 155mph, but they came back down as soon as speeds dropped below 155mph.

Thanks superswiss! I don't track the car and have no plans to spend time in the +155mph range and will used the 0 - 155 specs. I280 might be tempting to do something like that (+150), but alas, I shall not (looks like we're both in the Bay Area; the reason for the reference to I280). Cheers!

Yeah, there is no reason here for the higher pressures. On the track you'd actually start with lower cold pressures, because the pressure rises much higher from the tires heating up from cornering. To do it right, you'd use an infrared thermometer and measure the tire temperature across the tread and dial in the pressure until the temps are even across the tire. Increasing them if the center is cooler than the edges and lowering them if the edges are cooler than the center until even. A good starting point is setting the hot tire pressure to the lower recommended cold tire pressure for 0-155mph speeds and then adjust it from there after a couple of laps. All that is too cumbersome for street driving, hence the recommendations.

That's disturbing. What would've caused that, are they over- or under-inflated for those speeds? I believe 35F and 33R are recommended for my C63s Cab (up to 155mph?), and it's disturbing to know that the tires may tear apart at higher speeds.

Those front tires look extremely worn. 3Y? How many miles? The inner edge of the front tires wears extremely quickly due to the very aggressive camber. I actually just ordered a new set of front tires (PS4S), because after a little over 8000 miles the inner edge is worn again. Not this bad, but junks of compound are coming off and the edge is cracked like above on parts of the tire. I put a whole new set on at 10k miles at the beginning of the year, because the inner edges were worn down to the belts and my alignment was off. The current rears are at 6/32", so they still have some more life on it, but the fronts are done. Well, technically only the right front, because I replaced the left earlier this year due to hitting raised pavement and a resulting sidewall bubble, but I'm gonna replace both fronts to have the same wear level again. Will also do another alignment to make sure.
