Plasti Dip emblems on selenite grey magno?

I ordered som black emblems but they ware lost in shipping and i am refunded.
To be honest I am a little worried when I will release the OEM emblems as I have previously damage my other car and I am not looking forward to do it again on a magno painted color.
Therefore, it would have been nice if the emblems could be dipped.
Anyway, i dont want to wait any longer for shipping #2 so i considering dip them. Is it as standard or is it other rules that apply to matte / satin painted colors?

I’m not sure, but I wouldn’t think it would be any different. Tape off the area around them and cover around for overspray. Just make sure you do enough coats to have a nice thick layer to be able to peel off. It’s been a while, but I did my G37S emblems and front grille and emblem. The real tricky bit was getting the side/edges of the red S but removing the top coat of plastidip. The edges of S were chrome. I also used the plastidip clear coat/gloss coating over it, came out kinda satin though with each coat slightly more gloss.
You can also use 3x5 notecards to help block off areas you don’t want to have to peel off dip, ie slide a card under edge of emblem, just have to get used to the timing of drying and when to remove the card and or watch the pooling of excess dip from over spraying it so it doesn’t start to pull up dip from edge of emblem when you move it. It took me a little trial and error and the first emblem, but by the second one I had it down and finished the rest perfectly. Worst case, u peel it off and start over.
I was contemplating getting my emblems in gloss black or matte or even black chrome, but I too am worried about damaging the paint In the process, as I have graphite grey magno. I was toying with idea of dipping them again, but being a much nicer car I kinda wanna have it done right. Even though my dipped G37S came out great and lasted years. The front emblem took a lil more finesse and creative taping haha, and even used play do to mold inside and create the perfect barrier.
these pics it isn’t perfect anymore, this is right before I sold it and after about 4 years on, also did that rear spoiler.

I done it all the badges on mine. It was very easy. The trunk badge were a little bit tricky because of the camera.Do a search on my thread
