I’m now on my second windscreen, it’s scratched again with wipers after being replaced with a genuine Mercedes one 3 months ago, car is just 2 years old, replaced the blades at the same time as screen, my previous 4 C63’s have never had this happen and I can’t think it ever noticeably happened on any of all the cars I’ve owned, I’m wondering if the screen is now of a softer glass, anyone else had a similar experience.

This doesn't answer your question but whenever I buy a new car, one of the first things I do is apply ClearPlex on the windhshield. It protects from scratches and any rock impacts so you're not as likely to get starbursts/chips/cracks. I would suggest applying that protection layer to prevent future damage.

I’ll consider that after the social distancing is relaxed, a couple of questions though, is night time vision affected and also will if affect HUD.

I cannot speak to the HUD ( I don't think it will ) but it does not affect night time driving. Visibility is just as clear.

My 2018 C63s has acquired a number of small impact pits on the windshield. I never had a car where the windshield glass seems so vulnerable to this kind of pitting.

I got a chip on my windshield within the first week after my purchase. It's a tiny chip and hardly noticeable unless you look for it in particular.

I use ceramic coating on my windshields. Once you apply a couple coats youll do it on every car. bugs, rain, etc all wipe/bead off. Will help prevent scratches too
