I'm considering a throttle response device and have seen mentions of these three. Curious about people's experiences with these and advantages/disadvantages of one vs the others (or any other similar devices). It seems they're all pretty similar and maybe just have a different number of modes available?
I had a brand called Velocity installed on my old BMW 550 and it made a tremendous difference. I just did the "exhaust" software update and it introduced more throttle lag from a stop so I'm trying to rectify that.

I used to have a Sprintbooster on my CL550 back in the day and it definitely made a big difference. Although im not sure an AMG needs one.. why not choose a different drive mode for the lag?Originally Posted by jherm

They all do the same thing but SB has the smallest controller to look unobtrusive and for the totally clean look it can be detached from the pedal wiring and the last setting is remembered .
Also 3 valet modes reducing power by up to 75% and a pedal lock mode .

Sprint booster is the original. The rest is generic. I used Sprint booster in all my past Mercedes SLK230/55, Clk 430/500, Cl55. The M4 came standard. My C63s even thought has 600 hp, i don’t like the throttle response. And so you guess it, my Sprint booster V3 is on the way from CKS Performance. Is the most expensive compared to the others but I really like the valet mode and the Pedal Lock Mode require 3 code before you can drive off. Now a day thief can grab your car key code and start your engine but they can’t drive away without the code.
The Sprintbooster has a slide switch to select if your transmission is manual or automatic. It also has a warning note in the install instructions to never change that selection while driving. So if I'm routinely switching between manual and auto mode on my car which SB option should be selected?
The SB manual says "for semi-automatic" transmissions (DCT, S tronic, DSG, PDK, SMG, etc) to move to the automatic transmission position. I assume the C63S transmission would be considered "semi-automatic" for this purpose and I should leave the SB in auto mode all the time?

It make a huge difference on every car. Some people think it too sensitive. There are so many adjustment to your driving style.

I have really only had a chance to go for the initial post-install test drive so far. I need to do some more driving and play around with the different settings. From that initial drive, it did seem like the exhaust pops were louder. Maybe because when lifting off the throttle abruptly after accelerating, the "level" of throttle lift off is kind of multiplied by the sprintbooster, if that makes sense.

The controller device is very tiny and discreet. The old controller on my BMW was the size of a thick pack of cigarettes. Here's the SB:
