Quote: Any chance you parked your car where a sprinkler could have gotten to it? It looks like like what happened to me some time ago. The low-to-the-ground sprinklers came on and sprayed the front of my car. Then it dried. Hard mineral content. It took forever to rub that stuff out.
You know what, there actually is a sprinkler right near the front of where I park my car. And you can see from the picture that I did try scratching at it and it did come up a bit.

Guess I'll just have to put the time in to scrape it all off without scratching the piece itself. I'm sure that'll be a lot of fun!

Quote: Ugh! That does look like some contamination, though or damage from chemicals. That front splitter is gloss black painted plastic. It is rather flimsy, but I think that's on purpose, because sooner or later you gonna break it and need to replace it. Happened to me already once after about 6 months. It still costs a few $100, but it's easy to replace. It just screws on. I do have PPF on mine to protect it from stone chips etc. and it still looks like new after $14k miles. What you are seeing is definitely not natural.
Yup think you're right.

And definitely agree with the flimsiness being a big plus. I do get frustrated about how much I scrape the lip but then again, every time I scrape the lip I'm saving my paint, which I pray I never have to fix again. (Had someone try to break into my car and they scratched through all layers of the paint with a crowbar. Insurance covered it but I was without the car for about a month!)

Guess I just wish the finish itself was better.

All the gloss black plastic on my car from the front lip to the window trim has gotten some weird kind of fading where theres these tiny white dots all over.

Out of town right now so can't share pics but maybe someone knows what I mean.

Quote: I have the night package and the aero package on my car. The front aero is black plastic and has serious fading issues. What did you tell them to replace your entire front end? I tried and tried and kept getting told it is environmentally damaged and not their fault.

My car is a 2019, I've had it just over a year and I'm at 11k miles.
its a defect and MB replaces them, if your SA complains tell him you will do an owner complaint, because its still under warranty, and to be honest in this time and date, dealerships are loving warranty work to keep staff busy and getting paid.

here is a pic of my before :

Weird, I guess this happens on all model years? I have not seen any of that on mine and the car is out in the Florida sun.

Use a clay bar to see if that will take it off before you resort to scratching at it. The clay bar will be much more gentle on the car's finish.

Yea mine is in FL as well .. and for some dumb *** reason when I first got the car, I thought it was suppose to be that way... but when I took it in for an oil change, my SA said thats not what its suppose to be, and that its a known issue.

Also, the piece on the roof in front of the sunroof, you think its metal (part of the roof) but its actually plastic, and it has the issue of the clear coat peeling off. (this is covered as well)

Makes me wonder why some have it and others not.

I have spoken to a few other owners, and I would say about 1 out of 5 , had some sort of color issue with some of the plastics, and had them replaced.
(by far from a formal poll or anything, just asking people)

On another note, my Dealer (SA) also changed my Calipers as they had color fade due to engine heat (thats what they told me) who was I to say "NO" to new calipers....

Whats up with your Radio and AC ??

I had a wierd issue, when I took it in for the (below ref oil change) , the oil change indicator would NOT reset, it would revert back to 120 days over due, etc etc, so they said sometimes they had to do a "cluster software" reset (mind you , my c63s is a 2016)
It ended up taking 2 days, with MB Germany logged into my car doing a software update etc etc.

Never got a formal response as to "what that was" , but all is good so far.

So glad I have the RennTech tune that I can unload and reload.. :-) (on a side note, since MB said they needed to do a suspension update and a TCU update , I am now driving around like a mad man who just stole a car, to get my car to relearn my driving habits)

My radio looses all memory aka presets every ~ 2 months and I have to start over again. My A/C stops blowing cold air sometimes after 1h of drive. The latter is very hard to replicate - dealer had it out there driving for a long time to replicate but never did. They then just reprogrammed a bunch of things and it seems to work...but I have not been on many long drives since. Its brutal when you are on the highway in FL and your A/C decides to blow calmly hot air into your face...and no matter what you do it does not affect blower speed or temp....only remedy is to stop, turn it off and turn it in again and it works for another 30min to an hour.

Sorry for side tracking the thread.

Thanks to @FLC63s ! I went to drop off my car today at the local dealership where they ordered the parts for my front spoiler. The initial check-in was super easy like what FLC said: I pointed it out to my SA and he said "oh yeah that's covered under warranty" and proceeded to order the part for me. Wouldn't have gotten this replaced if it weren't for this thread! Thanks @FLC63s
