Picked up a used C63 S, fairly sure it has catless DPs... a few questions.

i think the dealer must have checked my ECU because my SA called and said he just noticed that the sec cats were gutted and asked me if I ever tuned the car. Didnt have a tune otherwise im sure they would have blamed the extra torque and would refuse to replace the rear diff.

my local dealer sells Renntech products and doesn’t bat an eye when I bring my catless, stage 2 ecu, stage 1 TCU C63S amg in for service. They even installed my subframe mounts and all of the techs were talking to me about them, asking questions as they’d never seen them for this car before.

I'm sure they won't care, until something breaks that can be blamed on your mods. The dealership doesn't care, but Mercedes corporate will and your dealership is unlikely to lie on your behalf to get a warranty claim approved -- your business almost certainly isn't as valuable as all the other, non-modded warranty claims they do.
People need to understand that the APPROVAL is based on MB Corporate .. not the local dealership... Every warranty claim they MUST submit to corporate for approval . They have some "say so" in some, but if MB corp as for more info, or details , etc they have to give it. Remember that MB Corp has all history on that VIN.
with that being said, having a good relationship with your dealer and SA, can get things done, warranted , etc vs just driving upto any dealership and expecting it.

If it’s tuned then drivetrain warranty is already toast. Getting Cats done would be about $1600 with labor as the cats alone are roughly $900.
I would definitely get a copy of the inspection report. These cars are fairly reliable so I wouldn’t sweat it too much. If there’s an issue that dealer wouldn’t cover then you can always have Solo fix it for fraction of the cost.

Does anyone happen to know the difference between the OEM downpipes for PFL and FL models of our cars? The dealer has offered the OEM pipes out of another C63 they have on their lot -- I didn't ask about the model year yet, but I know there were exhaust changes between PFL and FL. The part numbers are different (for the right side, 205-490-09-20 on PFL and 205-490-78-02 on FL), but the diagram looks identical to my untrained eye so I don't know if they'll fit if they're from a PFL car, or what the implications might be. For example, would these pipes make an FL car sound like PFL? I'd be most sad about losing the sound, really...

I am not understanding this thread now. I would make them put it back to what it suppose to be, not Frankien Hack it together.. because the next time you have an issue, and maybe a different MB dealership looks at it , and see's mismatched stuff, they wont care what another dealer said etc etc..
