Has anyone installed the GESI GEN2 400cpsi 6" version of the Red Star Exhaust Downpipe on your cars? If so will it throw a CEL without a tune?
I got RS downpipe after I made this post last year.
I got one with GESI GEN1 300 cell cats and these do not give me any CEL on my 100% stock FL 2020 C63s (no cat spacer used).
So I am pretty confident that you won't get CEL with 400 cell GESI cats.
However, you will get CEL if you configure RS downpipe with HJS 200 cell cats.
Thanks for your reply! This truly seems like the best option to get that unrestricted exhaust sound out of 2019+ amgs, without having to worry about tossing on a tune or degrading the emissions of your car. Is the sound significantly louder than stock?

Yes, significantly louder when paired with Renntech valve module to keep exhaust valve fully open.
It also pops and bangs crazy when you drive in RACE mode.
You can still drive car in quiet mode if you drive in comfort with factory exhaust valve setting.

Not true at all. I have the 200 cell Modalworks and the sound increase was substantial. Plus my EGT's went down a bit which is always a plus . Watch until the end to get the flyby.. https://youtu.be/1zhcIVL2WRY

How’s the smell? I am thinking about changing my Modalworks downpipes to RS GESI catted ones. Main reason is the smell. It’s not crazy bad but I just want to reduce it if possible.

I only notice slight gas smell during cold start inside garage. Once cats warm up, smell is not noticeable even with all windows/pano roof open.
And yes, no CEL with GESI cats with no spacers.

Apparently they no longer offer the 300 cell cats for FL, stating that they will throw codes. They did tell me that the 200 cell will not throw codes, but I am not so sure about that. Anyone here with a FL (2019+) with 200 cell cats and no spacers?

You would think it would be the opposite when it comes to the cats throwing codes. Not sure why a 300 cell cat would throw them but a 200 cell cat wouldn't...
