2017 C63 AMG Hardwiring Uniden-R3 Radar, NEED Fuse Tap, WHAT Size Fuses ar MB?
Have a 2017 C63 AMG Sedan. I am planning to use the UNIDEN HardWire Kit Below (1.) I am planning to access the fuse box located on the LEFT Driver's Side that faces OUT toward the left of the car, near the bottom left of the dash Left of where your knee would be and it Pops right off. I think the easiest Way to install is to use a FUSE TAP (2.) Shown Below!
Question: What SIZE Fuses do I need for the 2017 C63? The options are shown below and Underlined under (2.) Mini, Small, Standard, Blade?

Depends on which fuse you tap into. I ultimately used a standard size fuse on the driver's side fuse box, but also looked into the passenger side as well. I never could find a fuse that went dead when the car was turned off on the passenger side. It took awhile to find one on the driver's side, by trial and error. Finally found three that work which was good because I also hardwired a dash cam (which is just as important as the radar detector and far cheaper).
Thanks Swagg3r, appreciate the reply. I just need to pull it off and LOOK. Do you remember what Fuse You Tapped? What the Fuse was for? NOT sure what year your car is, but if mine is similar, sounds like I may need a Standard Size for my Fuse Tap, NOT the MINI?
I saw one guy on YouTube hardwire his C63 under his center console. He didn't show where he tapped into and got his power from? There are several electrical connections down there, and there was a bolt to ground it to. He had an ESCORT Radar and used their hardwire kit with the mute button.
That location would work for me as my radar currently is on my lower windshield to the right of the Main Display Screen and it plugs in on the RIGHT side of my Uniden R3 Detector. I just need the RJ45 to come out of the top of the console7-8 inches and that would be perfect.
I’ll take a picture of my fuse box and send it to you so that you know which one I tapped into. If we’re talking about the same YouTube video, that guy was clueless about what he was doing. Running the wires under the trim was much easier than I thought it would be and it comes out right beside my rear view mirror.
