CPOed C63S missing rear diff fluid change?

- 2,457 mi: "Vehicle serviced: Maintenance inspection completed. Tire condition and pressure checked. Vehicle washed/detailed"
- 3,970 mi: "Vehicle serviced: Recommended maintenance performed. Seatbelts checked. Seat(s) checked"
These were completed at an MB Dealership. In fact, all of the maintenance appears to have been done at a MB Dealership, and the vehicle was CPOed. So I *assumed* that one of the above services was the required rear diff fluid change for C63S vehicles, which my vehicle is.
When I took my vehicle in to my local dealer today for Service A, he looked through the records and couldn't find a record of the rear diff fluid being changed. Not by code, not by wording, and not by parts (typically the service record shows all the parts ordered, and so there should be a record of the fluid being ordered, the nut/washer if replaced, etc). So he called the dealership the vehicle was serviced at as above, and they said they have no record of the rear diff fluid being changed either. And it's not on the VMI.
I'm worried if I have a problem down the line, MB may not cover the rear diff due to deviation from factory recommended maintenance intervals. So I'm thinking I'll have him do the diff service now, which would be on my dime, as Prepaid Maintenance apparently only covers the services due at that time (ie it won't retroactively cover the rear diff service given it's not due currently). So I'm curious...doesn't a CPOed vehicle have to have all outstanding factory maintenance completed? And if so, shouldn't the dealership that sold me the CPO be on the hook for the rear diff service? Yea it's only $300, but I'm talking about the principle here.
Anyone find themselves in a similar situation?
TIA!
