C63 (Non-S) Brakes

It is coming near the time that I will need to replace the brakes all around on my 2017 coupe that I bought last year. I did some searching and found a lot of information for the brakes for the S model, but not a lot for the non-S model. I found the following kit from FCP Euro for the rear brakes that looks like it is for both the S and non-S C63 (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...230212#fitment). However, I was only able to find the following kit for the front brakes on the non-S C63 (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...ann-0004204700).

I was hoping there would be something like this two piece rotor kit that would work on the C63, but this particular kit will only work on the C63 S (https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...mbo-0044208420). Does anyone know of any comparable kit out there for the C63 (non-S)?

Any help is appreciated.

I am interested in this information as well. My mechanic gave me two options on replacing the brakes. Oem variety and then an aftermarket version. I’m going to email him and see the difference and then I will pm you with the details. They are master mechanics.

Do you need new rotors? Not sure if there is a two-piece rotor option for silver non S brakes.

For pads ... search on this forum, there are threads with part #s and vendors, topbrakes.com has front and rear Porterfield R4S pads for non-s silver calipers.

Yes, I'm going to need new rotors in addition to new pads. I found brake pad replacement options but made this post more for rotor options. I'm leaning more towards going with the OEM pads. I've seen mixed reviews on the Porterfields.

That looks like the same rotor included in the kit I linked from FCP Euro, which states it does not work for the C63 non-S.

you asked for a 2 piece brembo rotor, of course its going to look the same. its a 2 piece brembo rotor same as the rotor kit you linked for the s. However it is 360mm OD vs the s has 390mm OD.

If you are unsure, I can sell you a 2 piece brembo front brake kit for your non s c63. just let me know. pm me

otherwise, i gave you the part number you need to source on your own.

I got you. When I checked the part number it looked to be the same one from the link I posted. Thank you for pointing out that I was an idiot, haha.

This set looks like the correct rotors based on the manufacturer part number 09976423: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bra...mbo-2194210212
Would that mean I just add the pads: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...mer-0004204700 and the wear sensor: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...or-1715400617b to complete a kit?

I'm just not sure as the FCP Euro website indicates those rotors will not fit my car. However, if you have done it and know it to be a plug-n-play solution, if you wouldn't mind sending me a PM with a kit I would greatly appreciate it.

As an update for anyone searching this topic in the future, I just installed these the other night and everything fit fine.

Looks great. What’s the feedback on them compared to the OEM setup? Same brake feel, stopping power, brake dust?

They also sell a complete kit for the S and non-S with rotor, pads and sensor.

I'm probably gonna try these for my S when my fronts are due. I just replaced the rear pads before Thanksgiving with OEM pads and kept the original rotors.

I haven't bedded them in or driven the car yet, but I'll report back once I do. I got the OEM pads so I expect the brake dust to be the same.

I just had front brakes done, new pads and rotors, and the rear brake pads replaced along with new wear sensors. Cost was around $1500 at the dealership for everything installed.

Bedded in the brakes last night. They feel great. Can't tell if there's any improvement over the stock front rotors with just street driving, but initial bite and stopping power are at least as good as stock. Didn't really expect to feel any difference but they look good and saved a little weight.

As for cost, it was about $1,900 for the front and rear pads, rotors and wear sensors. Installation only cost me some time over the weekend.

Oh did you not have to replace/bleed the brake line fluid? That is the tipping point for me in if I were going to do this myself or not. I don't have a motorized pump to get air bubbles out and I don't want air bubbles in my brake lines. Figured MB would have some special step or something off ordinary with replacing brakes/rotors like "hey you should be replacing your fluids too so we'll do it for you right NOW".

I bought the
Motive Power Bleeder Motive Power Bleeder
to bleed the brakes, but I have not done that part yet. I still need to get brake fluid and can't decide between just getting the OEM fluid or something else. Bleeding brakes is easy enough, so I wouldn't let that deter you from doing your own brake job.
