⚠️ Check Engine Light, P2097 Error code. Anyone had that one before?
Hello compadres, has anyone had a P2097 "Post Catalyst fuel trim, bank 1 - TOO RICH" error before? What the hell is that? It appeared when I was accelerating onto a highway on-ramp but the car drives beautifully 👌
I've just cleared the code now, but haven't driven the car yet as I thought I'd come on here first and see if anyone else has had this sh*tty CEL come up before.
PS: No tune, just stock C63s Coupe.

That code tends to have something to do with the NOS sensors, (worst case scenario is an electrical issue) When this happened in my GLK 250, it was the NOS sensors.
(more so if the car is driving fine, no decrease in performance, this would tend to lead me to think its the sensor)

wth never heard of it on our cars............. only mini coopers & wrx's get that haha......... apparently its the o2 sensor but could have been some bad gas just clear it & see if it happens again aye

Thanks bro! Same here. I'll update this thread on the fix in case any one else gets this type of CEL. Have you ever noticed with your Coupe, when it's raining and you go in to fill up gas, your gas cap is a tiny bit "wet" with splashed rain water?

Yes, looks like it. Argh! Hopefully it was just a bad batch of gas because it happened straight after filling up. It's been raining a lot here in Sydney and one thing I noticed when it rains, the Coupe's gas cap gets a bit of water on it! What a stinky design!

Mini coopers? This guy. Haha thanks anyway. I cleared the CEL and filled up at another BP servo and it hasn't come on again for the last 100km. I'll keep an eye on it and if it comes up again I'll get it looked at then report back here.

Just had this happen to me and the mechanic said do these two things:
1. Get a bottle of Cataclean and follow the instructions on the bottle.
2. Drive it like you stole it for a short while.

Thanks for updating this thread and the tip. Yeah that sounds like it'll fix it for sure haha - it ended up going away after I refilled at another gas station (at the time).
