AMG Performance seats

I am thinking about ordering a C63s and wondering if the AMG Performance seats are worth the price? What is the comfort level as compared to the standard seats?

FWIW, while I have not tried the performance seats, I've heard several people say that they are uncomfortable. They do look great, but I'd heard enough people warn against them that I didn't get them. YMMV, of course, but some are quite adamant that the performance seats give them back pain.

W205 C63 AMG Coupe
I test drove two C63 (W205) coupes, one with the performance seats and one without. I thought the performance seats were plenty comfortable so I bought the car that had them. I have since taken the car on several road trips of 3-4 hours one way and they were more than fine. No discomfort at all. I would recommend you try to check some out at a dealership and see for yourself as I presume whether or not you get them will be a very subjective decision.

First off, what year car are you looking to buy? This is the forum for the next-gen C63 expected first half of 2022. If you are looking to order a 2021, then it's still a W205. I'm bringing this up for a second reason, because it's not clear if the AMG Performance Seats will be offered in the future in North America. They are currently no longer offered in the facelift 2021 E63, because they didn't' sell well for reasons mentioned above.

IMO, they have an unfair reputation of being uncomfortable. The real reason for that let's be honest is because most people are out of shape. The AMG Performance Seats are amazing sport seats and I love them, but they are designed for somebody more my shape and size. Something to understand is that German cars are designed around the average European male (180cm, 75kg or something like that). In old currency that's 5'11" 160-170lbs.

I love these seats as said. They are very comfortable for normal driving and I can inflate both upper and lower side bolsters to hold me tightly in place in the canyons. I've done many long road trips in them. I did a 2 months European Delivery trip for example driving over 6000 miles in the time and the longest driving in a single day was almost 12 hours from Switzerland to Copenhagen. I did a similar trip here in the USA, driving to SoCal from NorCal and back in a single day. Never any comfort issues other than what's to be expected if sitting for 12 hours straight. They do take a certain amount of flexiblity to get in and out of the car, and that's perhaps what puts some people off. They are the closest you can get to actual bucket seats, but once in them they are as said amazing. I've always preferred form fitting sport seats, because they keep my upper body upright w/o me having to use my back muscle, so I find sport seats less fatiquing on long drives and especially when the roads get windy. I've even heard from folks with bad backs that these seats are more comfortable to them for the same reason. It holds their backs straight w/o having to use their own muscles.

I passed on the performance seats , you should go test both.
Im 6 2 , the Perf seats were way to unforgiving.

Dont get me wrong they look nice , im just practical.
sometimes you have to push aside looks for being practical.
