Reverting to old software
Anyone on the forums do this ? My car was updated and now feels like a neutered puppy, the update killed the throttle responce, takes forever to build up boost and the exhaust noise has changed along with the tranmission shifting much softer and earlier .

I will pm you but you need xentry setup. How did you get the update? I called 2 dealers and both said its pending and can't do the flash yet.
I'm trying to get it done before putting downpipes on the car and no luck.

FYI - you folks need to drive your car for a couple hundred miles for the ECU to adapt and learn after a software update. Just like when you reset a TCU, the transmission needs to learn your driving style to determine shift points, etc. I'm running on the latest software on my pre-facelift Coupe which includes the exhaust sound upgrade (performed years ago), and my car has no lag to speak of. It hauls *** and rips tires in 1st, 2nd and 3rd if I'm really trying to torture my 18'' Nitto drag radials in the rear.
Drive the car hard, let the ECU learn and adapt for a few hundred miles, and then you should be all set.

OP were you ever able to revert the software or get the dealer to do something?

man that didnt work for me, any suggestions? This thing is quiet as a mouse now and the downshifts from 4>3>2>1 are so wimpy. Its been 2 weeks and I’ve been driving hard trying to get some of the growl back.

Agreed, MB really screwed us with the updates. The car's character is completely different from when I bought it 2.5yrs ago. Unless youre completely hammering it, its so tame and constantly changing gears. For me by 20mph, its already at 4th or 5th gear which is ridiculous for an AMG...im not big into tuning cars, so thinking of selling it...anyway car is out of warranty now so not sure if i want to risk it much longer...

The update also made the cars cold start after sitting for more than 5-10 minutes (depending on the car's mood) even when everything is warm.

Went to the dealer yesterday, he tried to say my car was tuned, even though I bought the car through Benz CPO and the software update was to fix the "broken" tune and to protect the turbos. I know its a bunch of horse **** but its sad, car is not the same.

You can revert back to old firmware or put a tune on the updated firmware. Ptg can flash old firmware with stock tuning. But your car will not be compliant with California's emissions.
I've had both tuned old firmware and tuned new firmware and there is barely a difference with a tune on new firmware so might Atwell just put a tune on it and call it a day.
The car is night and day after tuning and I couldn't drive my car stock for more than a day with stock tuning.
