Delayed Service B, cause for concern???
Local MB dealer has a lease return 2018 C63s. Looks great, has 15,000 miles. Dealer is going to CPO it but hasn't finished servicing and inspecting it.
My concern is when I started it up for a test drive it announced that Service B was 361 days overdue.
Per Carfax, last service listed was on 3/1/2019 at 6,437 miles.
Car was used infrequently as a second car at a second home.
Driving the car seemed solid. My only concern noted was a substantial "clunk" from rear differential when changing dynamic select from comfort to sport plus while at slow speed ( app 5 mph) exiting parking lot. No "clunk" when changing to sport plus when stationary or at speed.
I am not familiar with C63s and its electronic rear differential. I have a 2019 C43 cab and never noticed a "clunk" when changing dynamic select to sport + mode.
I doubt car was tracked or abused though not certain. It has one year remaining on factory warranty and so will have 2 years with the CPO warranty extension.
Is this of concern?
I am considering buying this car and appreciate any comments.
Thanks in advance!
Jon

From a mileage perspective not much of a concern. The first Service B is an oil change, cabin filters and brake flush. The latter is overdue now. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, and should be flushed every 2 years for optimal performance. Clunk from the rear differential is not normal, though. Given the car was driven infrequently and has an overdue service I would find out if the rear differential had been serviced at 2000 miles as required. This was still needed on the 2018 models. It's not needed anymore on later FL models (2019+). Cars don't really like to sit around, they run better if they are being driven. Check tires for flat spots.

Thanks! They are doing brakes including flushing the fluid as well as a new set of tires along with the other smaller things they do when CPO'ing the car. I will ask about the rear diff having been serviced.
When I ordered my C43 cab I hemmed and hawed about stepping up to a C63s instead.
Now I wish I had!
Thanks again, Jon
