Harsh Shifting issue resolved itself! Future problem?
I wanna share an issue I experienced yesterday for the first time since owning the car which has been 6 months.
I’m absolutely in love with my 2017 c63s coupe! It is an absolute blast to drive and has been flawless since day 1, it is not my daily as I have a 335i n54 for work. So yesterday I took it out and went for a little drive, I let it warm up until the dynamic car data showed the engine and trans in the grey zone and so I proceeded to switch mode from comfort to S+ and then Race, and just went into shock when I felt the car engaging gears with a huge delay and very, and I mean VERY jerky shifts, almost hurt my neck from how bad it was. Happened from 1-2 and 2-3, 3-4 wasn’t as bad but still very jerky and not like the smooth almost seamless shifts I was used to prior to this event. I instantly went into depression thinking my tranny is garbage. So I shut it off, called the dealer and tried to set up an appointment, they told me that they would half to charge a 3 hour diagnostic fee so $585 just to find the problem, they also told me to shut it off park it, and turn it on again to see if the system restarting itself would solve the issue, and guess what, it DID! Car is back to normal and driving like a dream again. Does anyone know what might have happened? And if I should be concerned in the future?
and shuts the car down. When it abruptly starts again, it completely ruins the shifting no matter which gear. For me I just let it stop again on a red light and on the next start fixes itself immediately. It seems to be connected to a faulty start stop system. I solved
This Issue by buying an obd
adapter module to turn that start stop garbage off permanently. It’s been 7 months and never happened again. Check this YouTube video. I bought the module from tornado tuning.

mb currently have the car and cause it happens intermittently it hasn’t done it when they checked it.
it only happens every other drive and when I turn the car off and on again it clears.
any update on your mate?
