Door Protection?

I recently noticed a few small minor door dings on both my driver side and passenger side. I park in a indoor NYC Parking garage. The attendants know me so I just park and lock in a designated area where my car doesn't have to be moved. However, cars are usually parked on both sides of me. Not sure when this happened.
I brought my car to an experienced Paintless Dent Repair shop that had previously done work on my Audi A7 with excellent results. He advised this job would take about 2 hours.
Just like to know if anyone else is in this situation? I included photo of the door protection called Door Shox a removable magnetic guard. I use the car most days so my concerns are applying these if car had grit/dirt, someone banging into them and thus scratching the paint or if car is wet from rain will they rust?

I know this is probably not what you want to hear but I'd say don't worry too much about door dings. It doesn't matter where you live or how far away from other cars you park, you WILL get dings regardless. It is just a matter of time. The effort you spend trying to find the best solution is wasted effort in my opinion. At the end of the day, it is just a car.

Don't get me wrong, I had the same mentality at the beginning to baby it and keep it away from "harmful" things. But again no matter how careful you are, **** will happen. I would go as much to say it seems to happen even more so when you're extra careful. Imagine you go the great lengths to protect it just to find something still happened. That would make your experience even worse.

I had a place in Manhattan for a few years before I moved my company office , and even with all my exotic cars, I just let it be what it will be...
As the other poster said, dont get me wrong, I respect and LOVE my cars just the same, but at end of day, its a car, and if the ding is bad enough, that is why I pay insurance and or a small fee to pop it out.

Yes it sucks that people are A$$HOLES and dont take the time and common sense to not ding anothers car, but that is a whole different discussion, and will bring out all the "Karens" on the forum.

Right now I am just going to have the few minor dings repaired by the very experienced Paintless ding removal for a few hundred dollars. Not fully comfortable with the magnetic door guards as I mentioned in my OP.
Long term storage in a NYC garage might consider a fully Bubble Wrap. LOL.

Knock on wood, I've been fortunate with door dings for many many years. I'm very particular with where I park. Pretty much don't park in tight spots ever. Not just because of door dings, but need room to open the longer coupe doors. With most other cars being 4-doors with shorter doors, I figure if I can open my coupe doors w/o hitting the car next to me, then shorter doors won't ding my car. At home I have my own garage of course. I'm known to avoid crowded store parking lots and rather parallel park on the street so there's no car next to me and the marked street parking spots are quite long around here, so no issues really with somebody kissing my bumpers. Again, I don't squeeze into a tight street parking, either. I'd also be weary of attaching anything to the panels unless they are squeaky clean. Even car covers are problematic if you don't wash the car beforehand. I wouldn't even put that thing on the front on it. I do have my entire front wrapped in PPF, as well as my rear bumper to protect against minor scuffs. Especially the rear bumper has paid off. Something like 10 years ago I commuted to work by car and one day had a huge scuff on the rear bumper of my then car. Somebody clearly bumped into it while parking or leaving and just drove off. Was out of view of the cameras, too, so I never found out who it was. I'd consider putting PPF on the entire car in your situation. It doesn't protect against dings at least not bigger ones, but it protects the paint at least increasing the chance that you can just have PDR pop it out, and with PPF you could put those protections on w/o worrying about scratching the paint. Most PPF these days is self-healing so any minor scratches would come out on their own.
