The true answer is depended on the tire you choose to run as well as the specs of the wheels you're buying.
Each manufacture will specify the min and max rim width approved for a tire to be mounted on. These can be found on the spec sheets for the tires you plan on running. As a rule of thumb, the 265 is the max width tire you can run on 9" wide wheel; 285 on a 10" wheel.
You'll also need to pay attention to the offset and backspace of the wheel your buying to ensure that you won't rub on the inner wheel well or outer fender.
