Hardwiring my Radar detector. Need a little help
I am hardwiring my Radar detector into the fuse box. If anyone else has done this, what number fuse slot did you use, and which fuse box? most of the ones I'm trying to use are always energized. I am looking for one that is HOT only when the ignition is on. Thank you

it’s the 7.5amp fuse on the right column of fuses, not in the left column set
Panel located on drivers side to the left of the light switches.
I have my V1 gen 2 hooked up with a hardwire kit - works perfect.

I have a 2019 C63s (facelift) coupe. I initially tried to run the wires down the driver side A-pillar and tap into the fuse box on the driver side of the dash without success - they were always receiving power. I ended up running the power wire to the trunk and tapping into the trunk fuses for this purpose. It honestly only took another 10 minutes or so to run the wire to the trunk. I used a fuse-tapper.

I gave up with the fuse boxes on the passenger and drivers side and tapped into the 12 volt outlet on the passenger side of the footwell on the console side. It should be an easy wire run up the side pillar. There is a nice ground post by the passenger side fuse box that I'm going to use. I'm going to mount the radar detector to the windshield with black high temp double sided tape from 3-M. I will be using part of a Blendmount bracket along with a bracket I fabricated from aluminum that will allow me to mount directly to the windshield. I will post some pictures when complete. It should be a very clean and somewhat stealth like look.

That blank spot is the one to use, it's switched power. If you plug it into that slot it will work, you can use an add a fuse to secure it.
