Buy now or wait

If you have a trade-in involved that is in demand, it might pay to jump in now. At least you will hopefully be given top dollar for your trade. Dealerships need inventory. If no trade is involved, purchasing the last day of the month will probably get you the best deal. Before I purchased my 2021 C63s Cab, I was looking for a pre-owned BMW M850. My strategy was to purchase one that was 1-2 years old . My assumption was that the depreciation on those cars are high and I could get one in the 85K range. Because of the market, that did not happen. Maybe that was for the best because I am really enjoying my C63s. Good luck!

Yep, we are in a sellers market at the moment. If you have a car to sell or trade then now is the time to do it, but don't expect a deal on the one you gonna buy. Inventory is very tight especially on the C63. I've heard dealers are not letting go of them below asking or MSRP at the moment. Sedans can no longer be ordered, so those who still want the V8 have to buy used. The coupe and cab are getting another model year for 2022, but it will be a short one and limited allocations. That's on top of the factories having trouble building cars in the first place due to the ongoing semiconductor shortage. Don't expect this to get better for another 1-2 years.

I've been shopping for a Porsche 911 Carrera S or a Mercedes AMG GT. Twice I found cars I wanted to buy. In both cases they were top dollar or more and the dealer would only give me minimal trade in on my low miles pristine C63s coupe. Using Kelly Blue Book as a reference which seems to reflect the inflated used car market.
