Main Dealer Service Vs Indy (does it effect resale value?$

Hey guys,

first timer poster here and also first time owner of an 2016 AMG (C63s). This forum had been a massive help up to my purchase so thanks to everyone on here.

It’s coming up to first service on the beast and got quoted 1.2k by MB, I knew it was going to be an expensive one as the transmission fluid needs doing. I did look into the service plan, but because transmission was missed a few years ago, I have to pay for extra it so it’s not worth it IMO.

got a quote from gem tech over in London who believe are highly rated here and an official dealer , with the cost being around 700.

If these guys are good, the only thing that concerns me is buyers being put off by a non-main dealer service. Is this the case?

cheers!

I would say keeping all records of these kinds of service is the best thing you can do. And if the mechanics documentation of what was done to the car is good then I’d be fine with buying a car taken there versus the dealer.

I have opted for dealer services because at first glance(car fax) it’s all there.

Much apprecaited. These guys are an official Mercedes indy dealer, so they can register everything that's been done to the main Mercedes database. I think going with them is probably a safe bet...

I have owned >25 cars in my life and I always trade them in. Not one time has any dealership asked for maintenance records. They just pay what market value is and are willing to go over pretty quickly depending how badly they want to sell a car.
