Smile C63S Brake DIY

I'm planning to replace my pads and rotors. Going with the Brembo 2PC and still up in the air on pads. But, my question is regarding the calipers front/rear. Any special tools and functions needed to release the rear e-brake? In my Audi's I have to use VCDS to cycle the pistons back in. Or, is it just good old manual piston rotation on the rears?

Also, if anyone happens to have a DIY on this that would be great! I searched but could not find anything definitive.

In your display there is a service menu, within that menu you will find a brake pad replacement option. You need to do that to change the rears. There are plenty videos floating around on how to access it.

This. I found one on YouTube that showed me how to do it. It's very easy, but I believe the process to pull up that menu differs between the pre-facelift and the facelift models. So make sure you look at the right one.

No special tools required, just normal brake job tools (i.e. sockets, ratchets, breaker bar for leverage on the rear caliper bracket bolts if you're doing rotors, and a thin wrench to hold one of the bolts steady on the rear caliper mount).

You'll probably also end up needing to beat on the old rotors to get them to come off. I used PB Blaster and a hammer and was able to get them to come off. Make sure you clean off the hub and hit it and the back of the new rotors with some caliper grease to help prevent that from happening the next time around.
