OBD2 power for dash cam

Currently powering my dash cams via the 12v socket in the rear seats and was wandering if it's safe to power them using the obd2 port?
Garmin just released an obd2 power adapter for their newer dash cams which will make hiding wires easier and so I don't have to have the 12v socket cover always open in the rear. I do have a hardwire kit but can't be bothered to install it.
Own a 19 fl if that matters.

If I remember correctly OBD2 ports have constant power. So unless your OBD2 plug has an on/off switch, otherwise it would constantly be on even after you switch your car off.

Yep obd is constant power from memory aswell. The garmin adapter has built in auto cut off when the battery drops to 12v. It essentially removes the need of a hardwire kits like the power magic pro and those battery packs etc. for dash cam parking mode.
Just want to make sure that the adapter wont interfere with the cars electronics or computers.

Install the hardwire kit. Isn't the fuse box on the left side right beside the steering wheel anyway? If so, just hide the wire in the headliner. It's so easy and it'll look much cleaner than having wires exposed and a 12V socket being used.

The wires are all hidden at the moment already except for the 12v socket area. I've had the hardwire kit for a while now just haven't been bothered to install it and the adapter just seems more convenient.
Just need clarification if the adapter will interfere with the cars systems or not.
