C63, JB4, BMS Intake, E30mix -- Low Pressure Faults

Hi, I've been running the JB4 for a little over a month or so now. Ran maps 1-5 in that time, and was trying to dial in map5 with e30 fuel blend. Last Friday under WOT in 4th gear (map5), car cut out and went into limp mode. Got low pressure faults (P0087), emailed back and forth with BMS and we decided that map5 was best if used with race gas.

Dropped down to map3 on the same tank of e30, all seemed 'better'. Had been doing logs and sending back and forth with BMS, one of the responses looked like fuel trims were are limp mode and set open fuel to 60--car had not powered down and given me a CEL at this point. Updated fuel loop to 60, reset adaptations and went to log again, felt somewhat better. Went to run another log and vehicle powered down into limp mode with the same P0087 fault.

Id like to state I am in no way thinking this is the JB4 issue, just need to find out what's going on with my car. Has anyone else experienced this? Is my LPFP about to die on me? Under normal driving, all feels well. I'm at half a tank right now, should I add 93 and dilute the e30 mix, would that help anything?

I've tested the e85 at this station at least 10 times over the past two years, dating back from when I was e30 on my f80 before going full e85 and its always testing over e90.

the guys and girls at BMS have already responded with diluting the e blend down and changing fuel to open 30 loop.

Still curious if anyone has had their LPFP go out and or upgraded theirs? All I can find is SPOOL Perf for upgrades: http://spoolperformance.us/index.php...product_id=108

Although my C63 is still stock, I ran a lot of E85 in my old 335i. Based on that experience, it seems that every car varies a little in how much E85 it can handle. It sounds like your C63 just can't flow enough fuel to feed the motor what it needs at that blend. Just lower it to an E25 blend and you should be fine.

Not sure if one is available for the C63, but I was able to resolve the low LPFP readings by installing an in-line fuel pump to boost the fuel pressure from the LPFP to the HPFP and that allowed me to increase the amount of E85 I could run. Maybe check into that since I haven't seen any reviews about the Spool HPFP and that wouldn't likely resolve your LPFP issue.

EDIT: Just clicked your link to Spool and saw it's a LPFP solution. I didn't realize they had one. Assuming it works, that should do the trick.

Thanks dude, just went down to an e15-e20 and will re-evaluate. If this works, I likely wont do a LPFP just to run e30 hehe. I think going full e85, we have to do other things like lines, etc. Will keep this thread updated! Thanks again.
