Question Wavetrac Limited Slip Differential on C63 AMG W205

Dear all,
I am searching how to upgrade my C63 AMG Coupé W205 (2017) regarding traction and performance improvement. In fact, i want to maximize traction and minimize wheelspin by evenly distributing power to the rear wheels. The objectif is even to have great perfomance in drag and road racing, as well as in normal street user.
My car is not the C63s but the C63 AMG. I haven't got the electronic differential which is a standard item on the C63s.

Electronic Limited Slip differential for the C63S that can dynamically adjust the wheel spin. My standard C63 has a mechanical differential which is a fixed ratio I believe.

A lot of professional tell me that i have to change the original differential by a wavetrack or equivalent but have a doubt.

Appreciate all your input and help.
Many thanks in advance

Pretty sure the non s has a mechanical limited slip and NOT an open diff. Your car already has a lsd in it.

Your car has a mechanical LSD, but I don't know what the bias ratio is. The big issue with mechanical LSDs is that one wheel has to slip a certain amount before the locking mechanism kicks in, and if one wheel has zero traction then the other wheel gets no torque, because bias ratio x 0 = 0. In that case traction control has to be active to put a braking torque on the spinning wheel in order to transfer torque to the other wheel. Wavetrac claims their diff doesn't have this issue and still works if there's zero or near-zero axle-load.

http://www.wavetrac.net/technical.htm

The electronic locking differential in the S doesn't have these issues, because its locking ratio is electronically controlled and fully variable between open and full lock, so if one wheel has no traction all torque goes to the other wheel with the diff fully locked. It's also much faster acting, because it doesn't require wheel slip before it starts locking. It monitors several sensors such as throttle input, steering angle, acceleration, measured grip etc. and calculates the appropriate locking ratio and even locks proactively. For example during Race start it locks before the car even starts moving, so you have full traction from the get go. No mechanical replacement LSD can give you that, but LSDs such as Wavetrac work better in low friction scenarios.

Many thanks for your quick answer. My problem is that i am searching the right reference to buy and install on my C63 the wavetrac differential model.
I have find it for W204 C63 but not for W205 C63 car.
If someone can give me the right reference for my car and a good vendor to buy it.

Regards,
Olivier.

Their website doesn't list it for the W205, but you can always contact them. There's likely no market for it with the W205 as the W205 always had at least the mechanical LSD from the factory, whereas the W204 didn't. Adding a locking diff to the W204 seems to be a common mod for those that don't have it from the factory.
