Stock 2017 C63 (non-S) coupe 1/4 mile pass results

I've owned my 2017 C63 Coupe for a little over 2 years now and hadn't taken it to the track yet. The weather forecast on Friday looked like it was going to be a great night to go to the track and make some passes, so I made the 2 hour drive in rush hour traffic from Miami to Palm Beach International Raceway. Got there around 8:00 p.m. and it was packed for test and tune night. Got through tech and got into the staging lanes then waited.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of breakdowns on the track so I only managed to get two passes in between 8:00 and midnight due to all the down time. The first pass was my best of the night and faster than I expected to go given the car is a non-S model and bone stock down to the paper air filters. All I have done to it was install MP4S tires all around (275/35/19 F and 305/30/19 rear) a little over a year ago and change the plugs a couple weeks ago.

The slip, video and Dragy data are below:

I was pleased to see that the Dragy numbers were very close to the numbers on the timeslip. Especially since PBIR is being sold to a company that is going to turn the entire facility into a distribution center and this winter racing season will be its last.

Temperature was about 67 degrees farenheit on that run, but it was pretty humid with a lot of moisture in the air. I had everything in Sport+ mode, used race start and let the car shift itself. I set rear tire pressure to 35 psi. The track prep at this point of the night was good and the car hooked and took off. Here is the 0-60 mph data from the Dragy on that run.

Unfortunately, I was only able to make one more pass and I was the very last run of the night. I was going to manually shift on this pass with the car in comfort suspension mode but I engaged launch control too soon and it caused a terrible start, then spun badly with the traction control off and the track prep being pretty much gone by then. Ended up being a 12.21 @ 116.42 mph with a 2.025 60'.

All-in-all I'm happy with how the car performed and I'm looking forward to getting the mods started.

Yeah, that was the highlight of the night considering how few runs I was able get in. I just need to find a secluded area closer to me so I can test out future modifications. No easy task where I live, though.

nice runs. good for base c63. i love seeing the dragy strip comparisons. it really is accurate. I too have found that it is slightly slower than the strip. I also have found a secluded area near me. no waiting in line for 2 runs haha.

Tell me about it. I was reminded as to why I stopped going to test and tune nights all those years ago. Glad I was able to confirm the Dragy is accurate enough that I can test out future mods without the need to waste an entire evening getting to a track (although the track surface is better prepped for testing acceleration from a standstill).
