Looking to buy used 2019 c63s coupe
Hey guys first time posting here. I currently own an a35 amg sedan and looking to get rid of it and pick up a c63s. I want 2019 or newer because of the refresh. I am on the fence if I should buy during this current market or wait it out. Best deal I have seen is around $83,000 with like 15k miles 2019 coupe.
Any opinion is welcomed.
Thanks

Hey I know you said you’re looking for a 2019+ but if you ever consider pre facelift down the road, I have a great spec 2018 for sale in the marketplace. GLWSearch

If you can find one with the spec you are looking for and at a price you are willing to pay, then why not. This is up to you. What opinion are you looking for? It's an awesome car, but they are selling at a premium at the moment like many other cars, so unless you badly want one I'd stay out of the market for now.

As stated above, it's dependent on what you're willing to spend and where (or if) you're willing to compromise. I spent a good amount of time trying to find something that was spec'd to my liking along within my price range. It took patience, but I was eventually able to find something that checked almost all the boxes. If you're waiting for a "correction" I have a feeling you are going to be waiting for a very long time as there is currently nothing on the horizon that's proving otherwise.

******I got a 2018 C63s, well optioned, and just did the facelift myself - mostly the new grille and inserts, etc.. The grille was about $200. The other tech and options available on the 2019+ wasn't that important to me as I will be just upgrading performance with bigger turbos, tune, intake, etc... and the difference in cost in my market was essentially all of the mods I want. I got a pretty low mileage car (19k), well maintained, and it looks great.
It's amazing how expensive some of these cars are now, almost paying full retail cost for a 2-3 year old car. Hopefully prices come down once inventory comes back up due to supply chain issues, etc..

Since they are going to a boosted I4 and rear EDU set up on the new C63's, I doubt the used prices for well maintained Bi-Turbo V8's will come down much. Supply chain won't help with that! It is hard to replace that wonderful visceral sound of the boosted 4.0L!

Yeah, at least for the near term I'd say they'll stay up, especially for the coupes since it's effectively been discontinued altogether. We'll have to see what the rumored CLE has to offer. Also regarding pricing, MB has already announced that they plan to keep the supply low even after things have recovered. They don't wanna get into discounting to move inventory. So with higher new car pricing becoming the new normal, and inventories being deliberately kept lower, the used cars could be in high demand. At least until consumers say enough is enough and the market turns back into a buyers market, but that's anyone's guess when that we'll happen.

Some perspective - I ordered my C63S in April of 2021. Optioned price was $93k. Price of the car, tax, title, pre-paid maintenance, and delivery was $105k. I got lucky that the dealer didn't tack on a market adjustment. I think they didn't do it because I had ordered before things were starting to get crazy. The only things I didn't get was the heads up display, and the second carbon fiber option. Anyways, the car was delivered to me on September 12th. I got a call 6 weeks after taking delivery from the dealer asking if I would be willing to sell it back to them for $135k. I politely declined as I really like this car, plus I would have to find something to replace it with.

Why I bought the SL63 AMG in this order
- Main reason its a convertible
- 0-60 in 4 seconds
- Loads of room for me over 6ft and near 60inch chest
- The large boot space with the roof folded down. Its actually more than a MK1 and 2 Ford Escorts etc. We have gone to Europe from London UK for a month in it for 2 years staying in villas and a return trip of near 3000 miles and packed enough soft luggage and used washing machine once for shirts; I took 15 T shirts . Luggage for 2 of us fitted 3 in North Face Voyager Duffel 32L plus my even larger Camera Bag so 4 will fit and a soft overnight bag behind my wife seat and coats behind me. Then there the room at the lowere level and large wash bags fit one each side. Still leaving room for jeans on top of the cases.
- Not for reliability it failed 3 times this year twice in Italy and the last evening in Germany . Italy gear change computer then 2 weeks later front wheel ABS sensor and finally 300 miles from home we limped back with yet again ABS and Traction light then Check Engine cut out. Limped is wrong rather don't go over 2000 RPM and that is 80MPH and never push the pedal harder than 5mm. New big battery after we came home as the only fault was low CAN voltage and all seems OK now its off the road until the spring
- Defiantly not for its handling 3 decades ago I had a Jaguar XJ Sovereign with sports suspension pack that made the SL63 suspension feel like driving a truck
- i would not buy it with a soft top it would use to much cabin space for my stature
- Would I but it as a R232 that's a 2+2........NO as Porsche do it so much better as regard to handling
