Mercedes Extended Warrenty

Advice. I put my car into Mercedes as the exhaust was making a rattling noise when the performance exhaust button was pressed, they have come back saying its the exhaust flap actuators. Then to say its not covered under the warranty as its part of the exhaust system, even though its a mechanical part which can be removed. Anyone else experienced this?

It is covered under warranty. Many people have had complete AMG Performance exhausts replaced due to this shi*ty rattle through warranty. Exhaust flap actuators are included. Sadly, it's not your actuators. It's the weak spring that sits on the actuator itself and the metal spindle that sits inside the actuator cradle which will gently knock about due to spring being weak and not holding the spindle hard enough.

There's already a big thread about it over here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-c63s-...63s-coupe.html

Mods please merge threads with existing topic.

If you're under factory warranty is should totally be covered, Mercedes Benz CPO and ELW however it is not covered.

Which country are you in? Looks like MB are notorious for not honouring warranty! What's the use of the warranty if you don't pay up when it's needed?? Looks like a business model to me!

I'm in Australia.

Mercedes service center is useless unless they are getting money out of the transaction.

I bought my car certified pre-owned, I had the same issue and they replaced them but something like my side rocker trim falling off wasn't covered under the CPO warranty.
