is there something wrong with my alternator or just electrical?

Get it sorted out man don't be cheap haha
monitors the battery state of health, current output, and it’s ability to hold a charge, all from the “intelligent” battery sensor on our trunk starter battery. Battery state of health is monitored AT ALL TIMES, that’s what keeps your fancy app updated and tells you your battery health. Since you disconnected the starter battery there was still auxiliary battery power from the secondary battery. This triggered a voltage drop event and caused a malfunction. I would start by using a factory level scan tool like the Autel scanners or Xentry if you have it and perform a “Battery Monitoring Reset” or BMS reset. Hope this helps!
