Noise while in Race Mode
Hey guys, I had the right front strut replaced due to metallic noise which came when turning to the left. You could clearly hear it and confirmed when standing next to car, even when the car was moving at slow speed. Problem was resolved with the strut replacement. Now I notice a sound which comes from the rear wheels when turning only while in Race Mode. I don’t know about you guys, but whenever I turn out of my parking spot when parked backed in and start as soon as I put the vehicle into drive, it seems that the electronic rear break does not let go of the rotor in time and you hear that rear metallic rubbing for a second. Well it’s that similar sound that I hear when turning in Race Mode, just not as intense. Any suggestions? I did replace the rear brakes myself with Porterfield pads, but that was over 10k miles ago, and they still seem to be going strong

Can you post a recording of the sound and exactly under what conditions it happens? Sounds like parking lot speeds if I read you correctly, so I don't think it would be the diff as at those speeds it's not locking. I had a noise coming from the rear that kinda sounded like the brakes slightly scraping, but it came from the damper modules. Happened whenever there was body movement at low speeds. Probably at higher speeds, too, but couldn't hear it over engine etc. noise. The issue is documented in the following thread complete with a recording of the noise. It took me three dealer visits, demanding that the issue got escalated and showing them this thread until they finally diagnosed that both my rear dampers were making the noise. For me it happened in Comfort mode, though, but they replaced both rear dampers and that fixed it.
