So I went ahead a ordered the new Modal Works Carbon Polymer Intakes that face forward, A) because it’s different than what’s out and kinda like them sitting up front and B) a pretty good price. First thoughts unboxing, filters are pretty good quality and oiled pretty well. The tubing seems, to me atleast, to be 3d printed. Which is fine , 3d printing has come along way, small imperfections on the sides and one of the logos isn’t as cleanly printed as the other side but I’m not too picky. Comes with good quality sensor extensions and the sensors actually twist in like factory and not just pressed in, which I liked. Pretty sure passenger side does hit the hood when it’s closed but not too bad. Driven about 100 miles so far with no issues and absolutely love the sound.
Notice any difference in performance over what you had?
I don't really like how they make the engine bay look so unfinished with the big empty space where the stock boxes were located. Although the only time you would ever see that is with the hood up, which isn't often.
Don’t know if there is any actual gains, don’t have any numbers and I’m completely stock other than those. Only had car about 1 month lol. I definitely feel like the car is more responsive and feel maybe alittle torquier but again no numbers yet. The sounds in my opinion are worth it in itself.
