Engine oil temp

Traded in my 22 CLA45 for a 2020 S Coupe. Just wondering what oil temperature everyone is reaching? My CLA averages 190-200F cruising in comfort and Sport+. My C63 oil temp is always around 212F degrees and temps outside is in the low 90's. Is that normal

I'm gonna say yes and no. That's what mine used to be up until recently. I've had issues with the oil level sensor since taking delivery of the car in 2019. I got a low oil warning the day after I picked up the car at the factory in Germany, but oil level was fine according to the physical dipstick. It kept doing it throughout the 2 months I spent in Europe. Even stopped by a dealership at one point and had it checked out. They said AMG is aware of it and working on a fix. When the car got to the USA, they replaced the sensor during my first service and it had been fine for a couple of years, but then came back. Same warning, but oil level was fine. Around the same time I suddenly had a misfire after an aggressive canyon run and took it in to get both issues looked at. They found that my ECU needed an update. Since then both the oil level sensor issue and the misfire have gone away, but I've noticed that the oil temperature is lower around 200F now with just normal driving. It even drops below 200F just cruising on the highway now, more like your CLA. Take that for what it's worth, but it looks like they deliberately lowered the oil temperature for some reason.

Thanks for the info. I know I'm comparing a 4cyl to a V8 that of course will be hotter but I haven't even used race mode yet to see what temps it will teach. The car only has 1900miles so need to put in more miles to make sure the car is running fine since factory warranty will expire next years. Thanks again

Might have to look into this myself. Im reaching around 212-218 during low 90's on sport + and Race mode semi wot runs. I'll have to speak with my service advisor regarding this ECU update you speak of

I remember my garage being warm from my CLA but with the C63 is feels like a oven within minutes lol. Will definitely ask the dealer about the update as well. I'm also looking into coolant additives like Water Wetter and VP to lower the temp after the dealer confirms all is ok.

Today outside temperatures was in the mid to upper 80's drove my 2019 C63S coupe for about 1 1/2 hours straight in Comfort, S+ and Race modes. Both stop and go and highway conditions. The peek oil temperature reached 217 degrees F. Otherwise it was about 214 degrees or below. I had the B Service done at MB in early April that included oil/filter change. Since the oil/filter change this April I put on 2,228 miles to date. I believe most time the oil temperature goes over 200 degrees but I have not been documenting it.
Also if the oil/filter are not changed at least every year, regardless of mileage, how that neglect could or will elevate a higher oil temperature readings? See photos below.
