Removing Rev limiter

rev limiter are for emissions and noise regulations. I’ve seen people with it removed but don’t know any tuners here that offers the service

I thought some remove it with CPC tune and I think there is a guy on forums here that also does it.
But I was told it hurts the transmission.

I'm confuse about the "hurt trans". For example, the amg gtr pre facelift, you can freely rev in park without a limiter. The facelift amg gtr with the same 7 speed dct, you have a 4,000 rpm rev limiter in park. then the black series you can rev all the way to red line but the sound is of course much more muted. There are many other examples such as the Audi R8. Before all this opf and strict regulations, nobody said anything about hurting the transmission. I speculated that it has a lot to do with emission and noise regulation versus, "hurting the trans". If I recalled correctly, Matt Watson on carwow asked one of the Audi engineers what was the reason for the rev limiters on the facelift Audi R8 and other Audi. His answer was, emission, confirming my speculation.
