Currently have the Michelin Pilot Sports 4S tires. I'm considering ordering a new set and see in Tire Rack they have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S STAR BMW vs the Michelin Sports 4S which I have on now. Both are available in size F: 255/35/19 and R: 285/30/20.
Any input with those who have purchased the Sports 4S STAR BMW vs. Michelin Sport 4S.

I highly recommend the BMW Star marked 4S. I've had them for a few months now. I think they've finally worn in. Everything is kinda dialed up to 110% with the BMW Star 4S over the regular 4S. Steering and handling is sharper and grip is much better. The other day I was surprised that the car didn't struggle for traction when I had to peel off. Not sure if you have seen the video below. I posted it a few times. It shows the differences between the BMW and the regular 4S. I can pretty much echo everything said in the video. Basically the BMW Star variant has taken cues from the Cup 2. It does lose a bit of the famous wet performance of the regular 4S, but for me it's well worth the gain in dry performance. We only get about 60 wet days on average per year. I'm not going back to the regular 4S. Waiting for the S5 to become available in the aftermarket, but word is that the BMW 4S is very similar to the new S5.

Yes. I did see thst video and my safety concern is driving on wet road conditions which I do.
A site: mercedesbenz tire center, the last video (47 seconds) a MB profesdional driver showing the stopping distance in wet conditions with different tire thread wear. I'm not sure how to include this video here but it's a wake up call if driving with worn tires. I still have about 7/32 remaining.

Yes, worn tires is a different story. That's when aquaplaning comes into the picture. Driving in wet conditions is mostly about how much water the tire can dispel and that pretty much comes down exclusively to how much tread you have left. The grooves in the tire tread are purely for wet driving and snow in case of winter tires. We'd all be driving around on slicks otherwise. I've aquaplaned once on 4/32 tread depth and since then I've been timing my new tires with the start of the rainy season. In recent years that has become less relevant, as I almost never even drive in the rain anymore. This winter I did drive a couple of times in the rain with the BMW variant when they were brand new and they did very well.
