Diff Issue
Hi guys, I have a weird problem with my car, I had to get the car towed home today, because everytime I turn either right or left I hear a massive clunk/banging noise from the rear, but it doesn’t do it when I drive straight.
is my diff gone or is it say an axel? Has anyone has similar issue?
I got quoted roughly 10k aud for a re-manufactured diff for Mercedes with install.
do you guys reckon it’s the diff?

For technical background, the e-diff has a clutch pack that engages whenever it's starting to lock the differential. This happens mainly under hard acceleration and during spirited cornering to send torque/power to the wheel with more traction, for example the outer wheel when cornering. If it happens whenever you are turning, regardless of how aggressively, then it sounds like the differential gears itself might be toast.
