W205 C63S Front Control Arms
I’ve always trusted Lemförder and used their stuff on previous Mercedes with no issues. The problem this time is that most of the Lemförder arms listed here in Europe are marketed as “fits all W205 models.” Looking at pictures, the big difference seems to be in the rear bushing (the one that mounts to the chassis):
- OEM C63 arm (on my car now): has a ball joint at that rear mount.
- Generic Lemförder “fits all W205” arms: use a standard rubber bushing instead.
So my questions are:
1. Is the bushing vs ball joint the only difference between the AMG arms and the regular W205 arms?
2. Has anyone here actually run the “all W205” Lemförder arms on a C63/C63S, and if so, how did they hold up?
3. Am I stuck having to buy the AMG-specific OEM arms (which are insanely expensive), or are there proper Lemförder equivalents out there in Europe that match the AMG spec (like the ones FCP Euro sells in the US)?
I’d really like to avoid paying dealer prices if possible, but I don’t want to downgrade the suspension either. From what I can see, the aftermarket here in Europe only offers the “all models” arms, while the AMG-specific arms with the ball joint seem to only be available in the States.
Has anyone else been in this boat before? Any advice or firsthand experience would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
