If you select Reverse while driving

This topic has probably been covered before so if it has I apologise but couldn’t find an answer. On 2016 Mercedes c63 while driving it and you select reverse does it log any communication/fault. I would really appreciate someone’s help.

If you are under 5mph or so...it will go, snap the car and yes...throw a code. Over 5 (or so) it puts an error on the dash as to not have the car moving or some such thing and not save a code...my wife proves this theory....

Above walking pace as said above, it will refuse to go in Reverse and probably put a message up on the dash. I've never tried it, but it won't let you destroy the transmission. At walking pace or less, it won't snap in case of the C63 as it has a clutch instead of a torque converter, so the transmission is fully decoupled from the engine and can be put in reverse. Just like you can put a manual transmission in reverse while still rolling forward as long as your foot is on the clutch pedal. I often change from D to R or R to D while still slightly rolling out of my driveway and then gently apply throttle to let the clutch grab and start moving in the opposite direction.

Would you know what code it would throw?

I don't think a refused shift stores an error code, unless it's due to a malfunction. Trying to shift in Reverse while moving forward is just like trying to downshift with the rpm too high for the next lower gear, so the TCU simply refuses it, but it's not an error condition as such.

Won’t it log the error something like gear out of range? Specially if you driving and just say you in 3rd gear or which ever gear you in and you select the P or R?

I don't think so. Gear out of range error codes are thrown when the transmission malfunctions and the selected gear doesn't match the current gear, or a sensor is malfunctioning. Not that I make a habit out of selecting P and R while moving, I have missed shifts at times in M, but the few times I read out the error codes, I never saw any error code related to a refused shift.
