Carplay Question
Thanks in advance.

You can look up your VIN and see if you have the "Smartphone Integration" equipment codes. From my memory the codes are 14U, 15U, 16U or something like that. Mercedes VIN Decoder | Free https://share.google/LZB1sbsgKLsTWD07z
I agree that your car may have a separate USB, or something to connect to that aftermarket module, check the glove box or center console. I suppose it could be a wireless module, but those are typically just plugged into the OEM USB port in the center console. Only one of the two ports in the console works for Android Auto / Apple Carplay whether you use your phone or an aftermarket Bluetooth device.

I used to use the Mercedes navigation, but I let the traffic subscription etc. expire as it just wasn’t worth paying for it for as little as I drive, so I exclusively use CarPlay and Google Maps. I also have a smart home, so when I’m driving a service loaner, I can open and close my garage from the CarPlay Dashboard. Basically CarPlay instantly transplants my personalized experience into any car.
