performance shops

Do you guys know any preformance/mod shops located in the peninsula that are recommended? I got screwed over on a set of wheels that were ordered (by a niche dealer) saying it would fit on my vehicle, mounted without showing me the fit besides a photo, and driven on. I noticed the huge rubbing due to the fact my offsets are wrong. I am trying to get this fixed, but I want to go to a reputable dealer.

Where is it rubbing? If they're rubbing to the inside you can get spacers that'll fix the problem. If they're rubbing to the outside the only options are a center or barrel replacement (2 or 3 piece wheels only), roll the fenders, or new wheels. I know a shop in the south bay but sorry, I'm not familiar with what shops there may be on the peninsula.

its sticking out of the fender and it’s smacking when I hit any bump... the shop is refusing to take blame even though they did all the research, said it would work, mounted it, and then noticed the complaints after the owner even said “you can’t fit anyone in the back.” I called immediately after I left the shop and let them know. There refusing to compromise with me and split new wheels with me even though I would be losing 2100 and they would only lose 800.

The shops been trying to bandage it by putting 3 inch spacers in my rear shocks which is causing my car to look like a truck... there also trying to camber the wheels or try skinner wheels; however, the rim itself is sticking out of the wheel well... they even asked if my vehicle was a real c63 because it didn’t have air ride suspension (I have the development pack, not the performance).

That sucks. Once a shop suggested a 3" spacer I would know I have the wrong shop. I have a E63 wagon that I spec'd the wheels myself and then ordered them from a distributor. Spent a fair amount of time checking and double checking and then worrying about it until they were mounted. I did a 20mm drop at the same time. It turned out really good except for some uneven wear. I have some new upper A arms that will allow it to be aligned properly and it is going in probably next week for that.

If you want to make the drive I would recommend "The Driveway" in San Jose. They're a little off the beaten track but they have the right equipment, expertise, and attitude.

honestly, at this time, I’ll go anywhere people recommend... I made the mistake of not doing it myself, but, I may have also saved my *** as far as an unfair contract... especially since they did all the legwork and mounted it without letting me physically see the car prior to putting the tires on... it’s obvious the rims stick out after getting told numerous times that it would work and there would be no rubbing.
